Job description

Daylight Engineering is a dynamic Civil Engineering firm located in downtown Concord, NC. As part of the team, you will work in a collaborative environment with PE’s and EI’s on a wide range of projects including subdivisions, multi-family, commercial, institutional, and industrial development. This growing firm will provide ample opportunity to hone your skills as a practicing engineer in one of the fastest growing regions in the US. Daylight utilizes the latest in technology to excel at the forefront of our industry and is located in a historic but modern space. Responsibilities:

· Independently manage civil engineering projects

· Regulatory research and determination of project requirements

· Drafting of plans to include site design, grading, erosion control, storm drainage, and utilities

· Prepare complete calculation packages to meet regulatory standards

· Field inspections and documentation of installation of design components

· Communication with local and regional and state reviewers to facilitate approvals.

· Mentorship of junior engineers, and peer to peer learning and reciprocity

· This position includes direct communication with existing, potential, and future clients.

Required Skills:

· Ability to track down required information

· Disseminate critical path items and organize scheduling

· Ability to draft compliant designs

· Ability to produce calculations showing compliance with regulatory standards

· Responsiveness to questions and comments

· Ability to work independently

Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelors Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an A.B.E.T. Accredited University.

· North Carolina PE or ability to obtain PE through reciprocity.

· Good written and oral communication

· Excel, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and general computer and typing skills.

· Civil 3D capabilities, to include grading and corridors, pressure, and gravity pipe networks, etc.

· Knowledge of North Carolina stormwater and erosion control rules and the state design manuals.

· References required.

Preferred Qualifications:

· 3 years’ experience in the greater Charlotte market.
