Job description

Civil Engineer – Land Development

A well-established engineering consulting firm is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join its growing land development team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment on diverse site development projects throughout the region.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare site civil engineering construction documents under the supervision of the Project Manager
  • Develop roadway, utility, and site design plans
  • Assist with zoning, preliminary, and conceptual land development plans
  • Perform grading and drainage design to support cost-effective and safe site development
  • Prepare erosion and sediment control plans, including calculations and BMP design
  • Support construction cost estimating through quantity calculations
  • Research and apply applicable local, state, and federal design standards and codes
  • Coordinate with approving agencies during permitting and plan processing
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required
  • 5+ years of experience in civil/site land development engineering
  • Experience working on projects in Maryland, including Prince George’s County and/or Montgomery County
  • Proficiency with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
