Job description

Bernstein has a best-in-class Research Associate program; our Associate alumni are numerous across the investment management industry and within the ranks of our highly-rated Senior Analysts. We are looking for highly motivated college juniors and Master's students to join our premier Equity Research platform for a 10-week internship program in our New York office. If you love research, Bernstein could be a great fit for you! Our summer interns learn about and contribute to the research we are known for: thematic, industrial strength, collaborative, data-driven, bottom up, and always differentiated. You will be assigned to a sector team (such as US Food, Internet, Banks, etc.) and work closely with a Senior Analyst and other Associates who will mentor and develop you.

We have an outstanding Associate program and make a strong commitment to development. Summer Interns often join us for full-time Associate roles after graduation, and full-time Research Associates often advance to Senior Research Associate positions and/or go on to graduate school. These are typically 3-5 year positions with outstanding growth potential within Bernstein.

What You'll Do
As a Summer Research Associate, you will:
    Build expertise in your sector working with a seasoned industry expert and other Associates 
    Learn in-depth analysis of the sector, companies and stocks by working with your team through a quarterly earnings cycle
    Complete a significant project and deliver a presentation to senior management
    Attend Bernstein Summer School learning and development programs
    Interact with peers in research, sales, and trading through a variety of networking and social activities

Currently we are considering candidates who are undergraduate or master's students graduating between December 2027 and June 2028. We seek students who love to solve problems, analyze data, and are passionate about in-depth fundamental analysis Our Research Associates typically have track records of outstanding academic performance. We look for evidence of thought leadership, intellectual breadth, quantitative rigor and a differentiated approach to solving problems.
Basic
    Excellent broad-based analytical skills
    Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
    Strong quantitative backgrounds and ability to work with data sets
    Relentless intellectual curiosity - our signature strength
Preferred
    Financial modeling experience
    Demonstrated experience working with clients in a professional service environment
