Job description

Job Title: Research Associate Department: Research Institute Location: Various Clinical Sites Hours Per Week: 40 hours per week Schedule: Full-time, Day Shift, Monday to Friday, 8 am- 4.30 pm. Position Summary The Research Associate will be tasked with conducting work as part of the Rochester General Research Institute. Key Responsibilities Develop and perform complex laboratory experiments. Plan, conduct and complete projects of limited scope or portion of larger and more diverse projects. Perform research in clinical immunology and microbiology and analyze resulting data. Assist with QC procedures currently in place and with implementation and modification of new and existing procedures as pertains to equipment and protocols. Assist with the design and implementation of research protocols. Collaborate with investigators to create and/or modify protocols utilized. Teach and oversee the work of other technicians in the group. Prepare and organize results of assays in various reporting forms. Review pertinent literature as it applies to ongoing and proposed research projects. Perform other duties as assigned. Preferred Attributes 2-4 years of clinical laboratory experience with background in virology, molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, and GLP/cGMP preferred. Strong analytical, computer, and problemโ€solving skills. Able to operate independently with limited supervision to resolve problems. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Biology or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Required Licensure/Certification None. Physical Requirements M - Medium work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
