THE OPPORTUNITY
Vir Biotechnology is looking for a Research Associate II to join our growing in vivo team. In this role you will independently conduct experiments in mouse models of cancer to advance therapeutic candidates toward clinical trials.
This role is located in our San Francisco headquarters with an expectation of 4 days per week in office.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Perform in-vivo efficacy, PK, and PD studies in animal models of cancer, including tumor implantation, tumor/body weight measurement, compound administration, and biological sample collection
  • Collect, organize, and analyze experimental data accurately and maintain laboratory records in compliance with company protocols and regulatory standards
  • Interact with in vivo and cross-functional teams through meetings and ad-hoc interactions

WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU BRING
  • Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or related field with 2+ years of direct in vivo research experience
  • Proficiency in mouse handling, tumor measurement, dosing (IV, IP, and SQ injections), and blood sampling is required
  • Candidates with experience in both syngeneic and xenograft models of cancer are preferred
  • Proficiency in mouse necropsy, perfusion, and aseptic cell culture is preferred
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills

The expected salary range for this position is $83,500 to $104,500 per year. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
Vir Biotechnology's compensation and benefits are aligned with the current market and commensurate with the person's experience and qualifications.
