Position Announcement
The Center for Social Impact is seeking motivated and detail-oriented SIMLab Assistants to join our team. This paid position involves supporting our Social Impact Fellows and Social Change Design Lab with programming, data collection, and impact assessment tasks. This includes, but is not limited to, researching and helping organize research around the focus issue of the year, and building on campus relationships. The issue of focus this year is food insecurity at UVU, in Utah, and in the U.S. This program run by the Center for Social Impact is designed to give students hands on experience with research, design, and impact assessment in collaboration with faculty and community partners. SIMLab Assistants will play a crucial role in enhancing the Center's outreach, data-driven decision-making, and community partnership efforts.
Hours: 8-12 hours per week
Summary of Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with CSI staff and students s on various initiatives, including workshops, trainings, and community partner engagements.
  • Assist with programming and logistical support for projects.
  • Collect and organize assessment data for impact audits and evaluations.
  • Help develop and maintain position history and documentation.
  • Track, assess, and report on the Center's impact metrics.
  • Assist in research and storytelling of selected focus area of the year

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
  • Must be a current UVU student.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in data collection and basic research methods.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage electronic files and maintain accurate documentation.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills
  • Has taken an introductory methods course or statistics course.
  • Knows how to work in Excel.
  • Previous research experience.
