Research Analyst sought by Sands Capital Management, LLC in Arlington, VA. 40 hrs./wk. Hybrid schedule –Employee can work from home 2 days per week but must work in-office at least 3 days a week. Must live within commuting distance of Arlington, VA office address. DUTIES: Develop key insights that lead to long-term investment recommendations. Articulate and share key insights to translate into value-added portfolio actions. New idea screening and industry landscaping for public equity investment ideas within emerging markets. Develop and recommend investment ideas, with particular focus on companies that operate in emerging markets. Execute discrete projects to assess and analyze relevant companies’ strengths and weaknesses relating to their business models, growth drivers, industry trends, competitive advantages, financial strength, management team/execution, and historical operating track record using the Firm’s investment criteria as a guide. Develop and build complex financial models to assist when making investment decisions. Draft investment case summary documents for companies under serious investment consideration. Conduct research activities, in Mandarin when appropriate and/or necessary (mostly relevant for companies in China) for both existing investments and new investment ideas including sell-side analyst meetings, management meetings, interviews with key industry contacts, attending industry conferences, visiting company facilities, reviewing trade and financial journals, and analyzing financial filings. Closely follow existing investments in Companies where Analyst is the lead research person. This would include activities such as following relevant industry trends, company results, management touchpoints, competitive analysis, etc. Collect and track pertinent company, industry, and portfolio level data over time. Actively participate in weekly Investment Team and Strategy Team meetings, sharing research views, company and industry updates and potential Investment Actions. Participate in Management and select Client Service/Business Development efforts. MIN.REQ.: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Management, Economics, Finance, Commerce, or a related field. MIN. EXP.: 4 years of experience in job offered or related experience in roles such as Research Analyst, Investment Analyst, Investment Research Analyst, Asset Management Analyst, Equity Analyst, Equity Research Analyst, Investing Analyst, and Research Associate. SPECIAL REQ.: 4 yrs of exp performing fundamental investment research of global companies. 4 yrs of exp in Emerging Markets. 4 yrs of exp in equity research. 4 yrs of exp in global equity research. 4 yrs of communicating research findings both through verbal and written communication including PowerPoint presentations, written email communications, written reports, and data input into FactSet. Must be fluent in English and Mandarin.TRAVEL REQ.: Up to 40% of domestic and international travel. WAGE RANGE: $200,000 to $250,000/year.
