We are looking for a General Repair Technican.

We are a restaurant franchisee and operate iconic brands throughout New Jersey; Applebee's, Chevys, The Shannon Rose Pub, Spuntino Wine Bar & JINYA Ramen Bar.  This role would be traveling with a company van to our restaurants to perform work.

The position of General Repair Technician exists to ensure the ongoing maintenance, repair, and safe functionality of building facilities and equipment by addressing a wide range of construction, electrical, and plumbing tasks. This hands-on role supports efficient operations by quickly diagnosing problems, performing repairs, and maintaining high-quality standards across diverse areas such as doors, windows, flooring, plumbing, and electrical systems. By fulfilling these responsibilities, the technician helps create a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment for staff, visitors, and occupants

  • Perform repairs on doors, windows, cabinetry, ceilings, and floors, including locks, hinges, tiles, and carpet.
  • Diagnose and repair plumbing fixtures like faucets, toilets, urinals, sinks, and water supply lines.
  • Replace or repair electrical switches, receptacles, lines, plugs, light fixtures, and emergency lighting.
  • Conduct carpentry work such as fixing and assembling furniture and cabinetry hardware.
  • Patch drywall, repair fences, and perform painting and touch-ups throughout the facility.
  • Install, repair, or replace restroom fans, hand dryers, baby changing tables, and partitions.
  • Requisition, manage, and organize supplies and materials for maintenance projects.
  • Ensure workplace safety by mapping work sites and following safety procedures and construction best practices.
  • Communicate and coordinate with managers and team members regarding scheduling and work orders.
  • Record all maintenance activities for accurate tracking and compliance.
  • Respond to emergency repair requests and resolve issues swiftly.
  • Assist with miscellaneous facility and construction-related tasks as needed.

    • Able to work independently and collaboratively in teams managing a team of workers and multiple projects
    • Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)
    • Thorough understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
    • Dependable and strong work ethic
    • Basic math skills; able to calculate volume and measure materials to be cut
    • Must have own hand tools; Power and specialty tools will be supplied
    • Complete computer/administrative work accurately and efficiently
    • Competent in dealing with emergency situations
    • Able to multitask and manage time efficiently
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
    • High observation and good time management skills
    • Ability to plan, prioritize and execute daily tasks to meet deadlines
    • Maintain vehicle in an organized and clean manner
    • Ensures that vehicle is driven safely, and traffic laws are obeyed.
