Step Into the Role

Join a leading aerospace precision manufacturer as the go-to expert for dimensional inspection. As the Senior Metrology Engineer, you will architect complex CMM programs, elevate inspection capability for new product launches, and mentor the next generation of inspectors while partnering closely with engineering and production.

A Day In Your Work

You begin by reviewing a new aerospace component drawing and GD&T schema. You translate requirements into a robust CMM strategy, write and optimize a PC-DMIS or Calypso program, validate a new fixture, and execute a First Article Inspection. Midday, you collaborate with manufacturing to troubleshoot a subtle dimensional shift, isolate the root cause, and adjust the inspection plan. You wrap by coaching a junior programmer through a complex alignment and ensuring calibration records are up to date for an upcoming customer audit.

What You Will Tackle
  • Develop, edit, and optimize CMM programs for complex aerospace parts
  • Execute first article (AS9102), in-process, and final inspections via CMM and conventional tools
  • Create and maintain programs in PC-DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent platforms
  • Interpret advanced engineering drawings, GD&T per ASME Y14.5, and customer/spec requirements
