Capital Markets Associate AttorneyDirect Counsel is seeking a Capital Markets Associate Attorney to join a leading global law firm with a sophisticated and nationally recognized Capital Markets practice in New York.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career attorney to work on complex structured finance transactions alongside a collaborative team of experienced attorneys. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS) and other structured finance matters and will be eager to take on meaningful responsibility and direct client interaction in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents related to RMBS and structured finance transactions
- Assist with securitizations, warehouse and term financings, and repurchase facilities
- Prepare and review legal opinions and transaction closing documents
- Support transaction structuring and advise clients regarding legal and regulatory considerations impacting structured finance transactions
- Communicate directly with clients, counterparties, and transaction participants
- Collaborate closely with attorneys and staff to manage transactions efficiently and effectively
- Support the broader Capital Markets practice on additional matters as needed
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of legal experience in structured finance or capital markets transactions
- Experience with residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS), securitizations, financings, repurchase agreements, and related transaction documentation
- Strong drafting, analytical, and organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- Team-oriented mindset and willingness to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interest in professional growth and development
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in New York

Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated salary range for this position is $225,000 – $260,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
