Job Description:
The Strategy Management Intern at our political consulting firm in Montgomery, Alabama will play a pivotal role in supporting the development and execution of strategic initiatives. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic field of political consulting while contributing to impactful projects that shape the direction of political campaigns and advocacy efforts.
Responsibilities:
1. Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough research on political trends, policy issues, and electoral landscapes to provide insights for strategic decision-making. Analyze data and develop reports to support strategic recommendations.
2. Strategic Planning: Assist in the development of comprehensive strategic plans for political campaigns and advocacy initiatives. Collaborate with team members to identify goals, target audiences, messaging strategies, and tactics to achieve desired outcomes.
3. Campaign Support: Support the execution of campaign strategies by assisting with tasks such as voter outreach planning, message development, and coordination of campaign events. Help track campaign metrics and assess the effectiveness of strategies.
5. Communication and Documentation: Draft memos, presentations, and other communication materials to convey strategic recommendations and updates to internal teams and clients. Maintain organized records of strategic plans, research findings, and project documentation.
6. Ad Hoc Projects: Take on additional projects and tasks as assigned by supervisors to support the overall objectives of the firm and gain exposure to various aspects of political consulting.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program, preferably in political science, public policy, business administration, or a related field.
- Strong interest in politics, government affairs, and strategic planning.
- Excellent research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Google Suite and familiarity with data analysis tools and software is a plus.
