Job description

Job Overview

This position is responsible for review and completion of all requirements for the repossession process for Citadel’s automobile portfolio. This includes but is not limited to maintaining support of the daily flow of repossessions and the handling in the assigning, cancelling, and updating of repossession orders and skip vendors from vehicle placement to recovery.

This position is also responsible for the issuance of all pre and post repossession notifications to members and/or the representation as required.

This position will be responsible as additional support to the Asset Recovery Manager for any departmental overflow in the case of the Manager not being available to initiate or complete these said tasks. The role will also be cross-trained to support all departmental administrative duties.

This is a Hybrid position. 

Responsibilities 

Repossession

  • Handling of placing delinquent automobile loans for repossession.
  • Handling of communication and interaction with recovery agents that will assist in maximizing repossessions.
  • Daily updating of all repossession attempts provided by vendors and determining if additional steps (placement with ‘skip’ vendors) are necessary.
  • Ensure all legal notifications regarding repossessions and sales are properly communicated to members (including review of repossession letters for accuracy).
  • Ensure all internal notifications and workflows related to repossessions and subsequent sales or redemptions are processed in a timely manner.
  • Process repossession reporting for company-wide use.
  • Handling of cancelling any repo cancellation requests.
  • Assigning of placing skip requests for unable to find repossession orders.

Filing titles.

  • Handling of repossession and skip vendor invoices.
  • Processing Sold auctioned vehicles.
  • Handling of any impound notices (ie. Parking authority, etc.).

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Knowledgeable and experienced in automobile repossession processing and laws (minimum 3 years) preferred.
  • Experience with repossession agents, Collateral Insurance Protection providers preferred.
  • Experience with ‘Collect Anywhere’ software preferred.
  • Have a strong understanding of department software and systems.
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships with vendor partners, such as skip tracing and repossession agents preferred.
  • Microsoft Office, Collect Anywhere, and other applicable Credit Union system experience preferred.

Additional Skills/Notes

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented person. 
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Citadel contracts preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment preferred.
  • Strong negotiating skills preferred.
