TECHNICAL REPORT WRITER

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for reporting scientific and technical information in a manner that can be understood by an average reader. Responsible for research and preparing technical reports to support due diligence related projects. Work is performed with direction from experienced, technical managers, under the general supervision of a Senior Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Prepare, review, proofread, and modify technical environmental reports under the guidance and supervision of manager and/or senior writer.
  2. Provide consistent written work product according to company’s styles & standards.
  3. Review and summarize previous environmental reports, historical and regulatory records, and other documents related to project sites.
  4. Perform regulatory and technical research as needed to support a project.
  5. Recognize and identify environmental concerns based on information provided by the assessor from research and interviews.
  6. Conduct interviews with property owners, occupants, key site personnel and local government officials to obtain information concerning the environmental conditions related to a property.
  7. Become proficient in management of tasks.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in History, English, Environmental Science, Communications, or a science-based field

Recommended Experience: Entry level – 2 years


Skills:

  • Strong computer and verbal/written communication skills
  • Proper business English, spelling, and grammar


Ability to:

  • Learn job-related material primarily through verbal instruction, training, reading, researching and observation in an on-the-job setting.
  • Document and organize while working on multiple projects.
