Summary

The Mainboard Repair Manager oversees and manages the repair and maintenance of mainboards (motherboards) for various electronic devices. This position is responsible for leading a team of repair technicians, ensuring efficient and accurate repair operations, maintaining high-quality standards, and driving continuous improvement in repair processes. The manager will also be involved in troubleshooting complex issues, managing workflows, and coordinating with other departments to ensure timely and cost-effective solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other Duties not listed may be assigned.

  • Team Management & Leadership:
    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of mainboard repair technicians.
    • Provide training and guidance to staff to enhance technical skills and ensure high-quality repair standards.
    • Ensure the team meets key performance indicators (KPIs) for repair quality, productivity, and turnaround time.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members for improvement.
  • Mainboard Repair & Troubleshooting:
    • Oversee the diagnostics, repair, and testing of mainboards for various types of electronics (e.g., computers, servers, mobile devices).
    • Troubleshoot and identify faults in mainboards using advanced testing equipment, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
    • Manage and ensure the application of proper repair techniques, including soldering, reflowing, and component replacement.
  • Quality Assurance & Process Improvement:
    • Establish and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for mainboard repairs to maintain consistency and quality.
    • Perform quality control checks to ensure repaired mainboards meet industry standards and client specifications.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce repair time, and minimize errors.
  • Inventory & Parts Management:
    • Manage inventory of parts and components required for mainboard repairs, ensuring sufficient stock levels.
    • Coordinate with suppliers for parts procurement and ensure timely availability of necessary components.
    • Maintain records of parts usage, repairs, and costs for reporting and budget purposes.
  • Customer Service & Communication:
    • Act as the point of contact for escalated repair issues, ensuring customer satisfaction and timely resolutions.
    • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., R&D, customer support, logistics) to provide updates on repair status and resolve issues.
  • Reporting & Documentation:
    • Generate detailed repair reports, including diagnostics, repairs performed, and parts used, for internal tracking and client reporting.
    • Maintain accurate records of all repair activities, including work orders, inventory usage, and service history.

Education and/or Experience

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field (preferred).
    • Certifications in electronics repair (e.g., IPC, CE) are a plus.
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience in mainboard repair, PCB (Printed Circuit Board) troubleshooting, and electronics diagnostics.
    • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a technical or management role related to electronic repair and maintenance.
    • Experience with advanced repair tools (e.g., soldering stations, oscilloscopes, multimeters) and repair techniques.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of mainboard architecture and electronics components.
    • Expertise in repairing and troubleshooting various types of mainboards, including those for computers, servers, and mobile devices.
    • Familiarity with electronics schematics and repair manuals.
  • Management Skills:
    • Proven leadership and team management experience, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performance team.

Working Conditions

Must be able to tolerate moderate to high noise levels in a warehouse environment. Office and outside environmental conditions found in the warehouse, hot in the summer, cold in the winter. Individuals may need to walk for an extensive period of time while working and walking the facilities; to reach over shoulder heights; bend or stoop below the waist; repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movement; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds (requires team lift).
