Job description

Job Title: Repair TechnicianJob Description

The Repair Technician performs assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of FAA-approved temperature-controlled cargo containers in a dedicated repair facility. This role manages warehouse operations and material movement, ensures containers are delivered clean and free from defects, supports customers with technical assistance, and provides training and demonstrations on active systems. The technician documents all work in designated systems, monitors spare parts inventory, and helps maintain a safe, organized, and efficient repair environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of FAA-approved temperature-controlled cargo containers.
  • Inspect containers to ensure they are clean, structurally sound, and free from defects that could affect operation or performance.
  • Carry out structural repairs on cargo containers, including patching holes, drilling out rivets, and riveting as needed.
  • Use hand tools and power tools to complete mechanical and structural repair tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Manage warehouse activities and material movement, including organizing components, tools, and repaired units.
  • Respond to technical assistance requests from customers in the assigned area and provide timely support.
  • Provide training and demonstrations on FAA-approved active temperature-control systems to customers and users in the area.
  • Document all work performed using CATS and the work order system, ensuring accurate and complete records of repairs and inspections.
  • Monitor stock levels of spare parts and repair materials, and communicate needs to ensure adequate inventory is maintained.
  • Pick up and drop off RKN containers to and from customers as required, ensuring proper handling and documentation.
  • Maintain the repair facility in a clean, safe, and operational condition, following safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet repair schedules and support operational needs, including early starts, late finishes, or occasional weekend work when required.
Essential Skills
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform hands-on repair and assembly work beyond basic assembly line tasks.
  • Experience with assembly or repair work, ideally involving mechanical or structural components.
  • Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for mechanical and structural repairs.
  • Basic electrical knowledge sufficient to support troubleshooting and repair of active systems.
  • Experience in HVAC or construction environments that involve mechanical, structural, or systems repair.
  • Background or familiarity with aviation operations or equipment; Part 145 experience is a plus.
  • Ability to perform structural repairs, including sheet metal work and riveting on cargo containers.
  • Understanding of structural repair principles related to aviation, sheet metal, or similar applications.
  • At least 1–2 years of relevant mechanical, repair, or technical experience.
  • Ability to read, follow, and document work instructions accurately in systems such as CATS and work order platforms.
  • Capability to work safely in a warehouse and repair facility, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with HVAC systems or construction work that involves mechanical and structural tasks.

  • Part 145 repair station experience is highly desirable.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
