THIS POSITIONย 


The SCA is currently recruiting multiple Event Assistants to join our Hospitality Team for the 2026 season. Our ideal candidates are passionate about the SCAโ€™s mission and programs and are excited to be part of a collaborative, community-focused team.

Each Event Assistant plays an important customer service role in creating a welcoming and positive environment for guests, performers, volunteers, and fellow team members. This position is a vital part of our Hospitality Team and is best suited for individuals who are motivated, demonstrate strong customer service skills, work with a sense of urgency, and maintain a positive attitude toward growth, teamwork, and community engagement.


WHAT YOUโ€™LL BE DOINGย 

The Event Assistantโ€™s focus is to create a welcoming environment for our guests, performers, instructors, volunteers, and other team members. This happens via:

  • Setting-up & tearing-down for classes, films, gallery talks, lectures, weddings, and more
  • Cleaning up at the end of the event
  • Opening/Closing/Securing the facility before and after each event
  • Working with the Hospitality and Rental Director to execute rental events including weddings, receptions, and special events year-round (heavy emphasis May โ€“ October).ย 
  • Assist at performances and special events as needed
  • Wash on-site laundry as needed
  • Maintain facility cleanliness before, during, and after events
  • Organize kitchen, recyclables, returnables, and garbage
  • Lift materials of up to 30 pounds on occasion
  • Comfortable on your feet for multiple hours
  • Work with the public (guests), performers, vendors, volunteers, and other SCA staff


WHAT SKILLS YOUโ€™LL NEED TO SHINE IN THIS JOBย 

  • Must possess exemplary interpersonal skills, and be able to interact with others in a professional manner

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work well with others and be a team player
  • Ability to follow written and verbal direction
  • Must be 18 or older to apply


DESIRED SKILLS FOR THIS JOB

  • Prior event/hospitality experience preferred
  • Comfortable serving at the bar when needed
  • Comfortable working as a team and independently
  • Money handling and retail experience a plus but not required
  • Prior experience working with public required
