Job description

The Project Manager will coordinate pre‑construction, engineering and other support activities to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency in commercial solar projects. The role includes project tracking, invoicing, streamlining administrative and execution procedures, maintaining facilities and equipment, and day‑to‑day accounting activities.

We are looking for an energetic, tech‑savvy professional who can handle a wide range of project and administrative tasks, work independently with little supervision, stay well organized, adapt flexibly, and tackle the administrative challenges of supporting a diverse team.

Project Manager Responsibilities
  • Prepare RFPs, RFIs, correspondence, subcontractor hiring and filing systems, and onboarding.
  • Perform accounting tasks including preparing estimates, categorizing expenses, running reports, reviewing billable hours and expenses, compiling tax/reporting information, etc.
  • Work with IT and the team to maintain the website, office systems, software, and server equipment.
  • Purchase, order, and maintain travel itineraries, office supplies, and equipment.
  • Fill out and file permit, tax and insurance forms, certifications, and pay associated fees.
  • Track projects and prepare quotes, purchase orders, change orders, invoices, and letters.
  • Help prepare and maintain government paperwork, participate in local outreach and partnerships.
  • Ensure common areas are clean, organized, and maintain facilities as needed.
  • Schedule meetings and coordinate with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate tasks and track technical requirements and deliverables with the team, including client and subcontractors, to ensure critical deadlines are met.
  • Perform basic reviews of technical documents for compliance with project requirements.
Project Manager Skills and Requirements
  • Advanced proficiency with computers, internet applications and office software, including Microsoft Office & Project, Google Workspace, QuickBooks Online & Excel.
  • 2+ years of proven success in managing projects/teams across multiple functions (5+ years preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field + relevant experience preferred.
  • Effective communication with both office and outside technical personnel.
  • Excellent writing skills and familiarity with websites and online social media.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy while handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Integrity and sound business ethics, including protection of intellectual property.
  • Ability to interact with staff, clients, and contractors in a professionally appropriate manner.
  • 2+ years of experience with solar, renewable energy, and engineering fields highly desired.
