Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cytotechnologist to join our laboratory team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for the microscopic examination of cellular samples. You will collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely results.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare cellular samples for analysis, ensuring proper staining and slide preparation.
  • Analyze and document findings accurately and maintain detailed records.
  • Examine slides under a microscope to identify abnormalities.
  • Collaborate with pathologists to discuss results and contribute to the diagnostic process.
  • Stay up to date with advances in cytology and pathology through continued education.
  • Follow established laboratory protocols and quality control measures.
  • Review maintenance logs, slide loans for accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist provider for NYS/Federal inspection preparation
  • Adhere to safety and regulatory guidelines, including HIPAA.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Certified Cytotechnologist (CT) is required.
  • 1-3 years of prior experience in cytology is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent microscopic skills.
  • Strong and effective communications skills both in written and verbal.
  • Strong collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Chinese is a plus but not required.
