Job Title: Pediatric Pathologist, Anatomic Pathology (Assistant Professor)
Location: Houston, Texas
Overview:
The Department of Pathology at Texas Children's Hospital (TCH) is seeking to expand its faculty in the Division of Anatomic Pathology with an M.D., D.O. or M.D./Ph.D. board-certified or board-eligible pediatric pathologist. Academic appointment will be at the level of Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in the Department of Pathology & Immunology at Baylor College of Medicine. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.
Other Divisions within the Department of Pathology include Community Pathology, Discovery, Genomic Medicine, Laboratory Medicine, Pathology Informatics, and Transfusion Medicine & Coagulation.
Key Responsibilities:
-This individual should be well-established in an AP subspecialty. Subspecialties within the AP Division include Pediatric Pathology, Cytopathology and Neuropathology. AP services include surgical, cardiac, autopsy, gynecologic, placental/perinatal, renal, transplant and ultrastructural pathology.
-Faculty members are expected to contribute to scholarly activities, as well as pathology resident and fellow education.
Minimum Qualifications:
Interested individuals must possess Board certification in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology through the American Board of Pathology. Board-certification or Board-eligibility in Pediatric Pathology is required. Candidates must also be eligible for an active, unrestricted Texas medical license. Primary service responsibilities will include pediatric and perinatal/placental pathology. Secondary coverage of adult gynecologic pathology, medical renal pathology, cytopathology, or congenital cardiac disease pathology is desirable.
Work Schedule and Environment:
-Standard five-day workweek.
-Typical hours: 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional extension to 6 PM.
