About RE Management Solutions

RE Management Solutions (REMS) is an owner's representative and project management consulting firm serving Fortune 250 utility clients across the electric and gas distribution and transmission sectors. We partner with major utilities to plan, permit, and deliver capital construction projects safely, on schedule, and on budget - acting as a trusted extension of our clients' own project management organizations.

Position Overview

REMS is seeking a Project Manager to independently manage electric distribution and/or transmission capital projects for a major U.S. utility client, or to support a Senior Project Manager on larger, multi-phase work. This role is a great fit for a utility PM who is ready to own smaller-scope projects end-to-end and grow into larger project responsibility over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage scope, cost, and schedule for one or more assigned projects from design/permitting through construction and close-out

  • Maintain project schedules and provide regular status and progress reporting

  • Coordinate with engineering and construction contractors to keep work aligned with utility standards and the master schedule

  • Track and support resolution of action items, change orders, and permitting requirements

  • Support weekly status meetings and produce required meeting minutes, punch lists, and closeout documentation

  • Escalate scope, schedule, cost, or safety risks promptly to project leadership

  • Maintain field presence as needed during active construction activities

Required Qualifications

  • 3-7 years managing utility capital projects; electric distribution and/or transmission experience preferred

  • Working knowledge of project scheduling, permitting, and construction coordination

  • Comfortable working independently on smaller-scope projects with periodic oversight

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for client-facing reporting

  • OSHA 30-hour certification (or ability to obtain promptly)

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP certification, or actively working toward one

  • Prior exposure to major U.S. investor-owned utility construction operations

  • Exposure to Primavera P6 or similar project scheduling tools
