The position requires you to engage with educational staff and students via virtual platforms, maintaining a flexible work schedule that includes occasional evening and weekend hours to accommodate the needs of students and families.

• Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments that delve into students' mental health concerns, strengths, and support systems.
• Provide evidence-based individual, family, and group therapy tailored to address the unique needs of students and their families.
• Utilize therapeutic modalities including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused brief therapy, and trauma-informed approaches to guide clients toward recovery.
• Develop and maintain individualized treatment plans that incorporate measurable goals and therapeutic interventions.
• Collaborate with educators, administrators, and other mental health professionals to create a coordinated and supportive care environment for students.
• Facilitate crisis intervention and risk assessments, ensuring the safety and well-being of students in urgent situations.
• Document therapy sessions and assessments accurately, ensuring compliance with ethical and legal standards.
• Lead group therapy sessions and psychoeducational classes aimed at developing students' coping strategies and emotional intelligence.

As a Remote School-Based Mental Health Specialist, you will primarily work with students in K-12 education settings, addressing a spectrum of mental health issues. You will also engage with families, offering guidance and support to enhance the students' home environments. The diverse clientele will require cultural competency and an understanding of various backgrounds to provide the best possible care.

• Minimum of a Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Active and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Kansas.
• At least two years of direct experience in a mental health or outpatient setting, particularly with school-aged children and adolescents.
• Strong familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic modalities specifically effective in school settings.
• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to effectively connect with students, families, and professionals.

• Previous experience in school-based mental health settings or programs.
• Background working with a diverse population of students from various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
• Watchfulness of local and national mental health trends impacting school environments.
