Job description

We are seeking a conceptually sharp, culturally fluent, and hands-on Videographer/Editor to join our dedicated team building a YouTube channel for one of the world’s leading social video editing software brands. This specialized role is focused on production planning, visual capture and post-production execution of long-form product tutorial content, searchable how-to breakdowns, and creator-led narrative content designed for an audience of editors, creators, and social filmmakers.

The ideal candidate is part physical creator, part episodic visual storyteller, and part end-to-end production expert. Our client brings modern expertise, helpful guidance, and casual confidence to social content creation without a corporate ego. If you know how to shoot and edit video that keeps eyes on screen, structure a flawless visual pace for episodic YouTube programming, and possess the technical production experience to independently capture workflows and collaborate effectively with cross-functional creative teams—this is your role.

Project Duration & Hours:

  • Timeline: Launching soon through end of February 2027, with likelihood to extend until June 2027.
  • Hours: Variable by phase, estimated at 15–35 hours per week.

Work Environment:

  • Location: Remote-first, with hybrid or in-office options available if preferred.
  • On-Site Requirement: The team will need to be on-location together for content shoots.

Key Responsibilities

  • Long-Form Video Production & Storytelling: Shoot, capture, and edit complete episodic YouTube series, including 3–5 minute scenario-based tutorials, short-form “pro-tip” breakout content, and creator process stories. Develop tight pacing, dynamic framing, clean transitions, and a narrative visual rhythm that holds attention spans.
  • Product Tutorial Execution: Proactively learn and use our client’s software products to knowledgeably shoot screen recordings, technical workflows, and end-to-end use case demos with deep technical accuracy.
  • Creator Content Packaging: Translate creator-made content and raw process interviews into useful, watchable long-form content that complements the channel offering, packaging assets so they feel organic and engaging.
  • Platform-Native Visual Flow: Apply rigorous YouTube platform best practices to editing pipelines. Visually optimize strong, scroll-stopping video hooks within the first few seconds, manage clear footage continuity, and structure timelines to seamlessly support chapter markers.
  • Hands-On Collaboration: Actively manage your workflow pipeline from pre-production through post. Partner directly with Copywriters, Designer/Art Directors, and Creator Partners throughout the process to ensure content clarity.
  • Presentation & Critique: Confidently present rough cuts, assembly edits, and visual outlines to internal stakeholders and client leads, iterating swiftly based on structural, brand, or technical product accuracy feedback.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional content creation experience, with a distinct specialization in camera operation, high-volume screen capture, and video editing for long-form, episodic or internet-native content.
  • End-to-end video production and post-production pipeline expertise is required. Must have a comprehensive understanding of bringing content to life from initial storyboard to finished asset, focusing on live action and motion graphics.
  • Long-Form Portfolio Required: A strong portfolio, reel, or channel link showcasing long-form content creation specifically optimized for YouTube distribution metrics (views, retention, watch time). Submissions must feature examples of long-form episodic series, tech/software walkthroughs, and/or branded creator stories.
  • Well-versed in advanced post-production tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, and social video editing applications like CapCut.
  • Experience shooting video on mirrorless cameras (e.g., Sony FX3) in both studio and environmental settings.
  • Highly organized self-starter capable of managing production calendars and tight editing turnarounds under quick, reactive cycles.

Optional Qualifications

  • Trend Adoption: Deep fluency in social platform trends, internet editing subcultures, kinetic pacing aesthetics, social entertainment, and digital creator communities.
  • Personality-Driven Content: Experience filming and editing content optimized for personality-driven or host-led entertainment (talking heads, video podcasts, or live-reaction formats).
  • Modern Tutorial Architecture: Background filming, screen-recording, or animating technical demos and user-experience walkthroughs for modern app software or video editing platforms.
  • AI Tool Proficiency: Experimental experience or adoption of emerging generative AI software tools across creative workflows:
    • Video: Sora, Veo, Runway, Pika Labs, Kling, Higgsfield, Dreamina Seedance
    • Image: Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, Krea AI, DALL-E
    • Audio/LLM: ElevenLabs, Suno, Udio, ChatGPT, Gemini
