  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.

About the job
Technical writers plan, create, and maintain educational content as an integral part of the engineering or user experience. The content is often in the form of documentation, but may also be UI text, sample code, videos, or other educational material. Regardless of the content medium, technical writers are distinguished by their abilities to explain complex topics in a way that's useful to their audience.

You will support infrastructure teams across YouTube, researching and creating documentation for the tools, frameworks, and platforms that power the world's most popular video destination.
In this role, you'll have the independence to lead complex technical documentation projects, working directly with subject matter experts from YouTube infrastructure teams to document core tech stacks and developer APIs for both internal and external engineering partners. You will be a strategic thinker ready to scale solutions and drive a documentation-first culture across YouTube.
At YouTube, we believe that everyone deserves to have a voice, and that the world is a better place when we listen, share, and build community through our stories. We work together to give everyone the power to share their story, explore what they love, and connect with one another in the process. Working at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and boundless creativity, we move at the speed of culture with a shared goal to show people the world. We explore new ideas, solve real problems, and have fun - and we do it all together.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
