Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments through preliminary interviews and ongoing evaluative measures, meticulously documenting all interactions from intake to treatment completion.
  • Develop evidence-based treatment plans tailored to the unique mental, behavioral, and emotional needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, employing effective therapeutic techniques to foster engagement and healing.
  • Regularly monitor client progress throughout the treatment process, adjusting plans as needed to meet evolving needs.
  • Actively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and other mental health professionals to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.
  • Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families on behavioral health challenges, enhancing understanding and treatment adherence.
  • Manage referrals effectively to ensure clients receive all necessary support and resources throughout their recovery journey.
  • Maintain a focus on identifying and addressing barriers to recovery, implementing strategies to mitigate these challenges.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, or LICSW in the state of Massachusetts.
  • A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage clients and document case progress.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR or similar platforms.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior professional experience as a mental health counselor, preferably in a clinical or community health setting.
  • Knowledge and experience in managing co-occurring physical and mental health conditions, as well as addiction disorders.
  • Familiarity with the best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
  • Understanding of the effects and management of medications prescribed by medical specialists as part of integrated treatment plans.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and compassion in all client interactions.
