Duties
Help
  • Edits and writes economic and statistical content for accuracy, clarity, and accessibility to technical and diverse audiences.
  • Edits materials including charts, tables, and visuals for different platforms (i.e., printed, digital, in-person presentation).
  • Ensures content and format are appropriate for target audience.
  • Collaborates to create and improve content, following best practices, working on multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Performs less than 25% of supervisory duties.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes: Writing, editing, and reviewing material to appear in both print and online publications, reports, periodicals, brochures, presentations, and audio-visual productions; editing and copy editing economic and statistical content to be grammatically correct and accessible to technical and diverse audiences; editing and distilling complex economic/statistical information; collaborating with economists, authors, editors, staff, and managers; and creating, proofreading, modifying, and formatting content, including charts and visuals, to improve clarity and ensure accuracy.
Education: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer.
