Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Professional Counselor at Park Avenue Psychotherapy, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating effectively with our Medical Director and the broader medical team to coordinate comprehensive mental health treatment plans that integrate medical, psychiatric, and therapeutic services.
  • Providing in-service training to medical, psychiatric, and security staff to enhance understanding and management of mental health issues.
  • Intervening and deescalating mental health emergencies to ensure the safety and well-being of all patients within our care.
  • Documenting all patient interactions and maintaining accurate and confidential medical records in compliance with our organizational standards.
  • Assessing individual client needs to develop specific treatment goals and plans tailored to their circumstances.
  • Preparing and submitting regular reports reflecting the progress and challenges faced by patients as part of our ongoing quality improvement efforts.
  • Facilitating post-release referrals to appropriate services, ensuring seamless transitions for clients returning to their communities.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work with a varied patient population, including adults experiencing acute mental health crises, chronic mental health issues, and those seeking counseling for life changes and stressors. Our clients come from diverse backgrounds, requiring a counselor who can navigate various cultural contexts and adapt treatment approaches accordingly. Qualifications
