To thrive in a remote working role, strong self-discipline, time management, and proficiency in digital collaboration platforms are essential, typically supported by experience in a relevant field. Familiarity with tools such as Zoom, Slack, project management software (like Asana or Trello), and secure VPNs is often required. Excellent written communication, adaptability, and the ability to work independently are standout soft skills in this environment. These qualities enable productivity and effective team contribution regardless of location, which is critical to remote work success.

What careers can I work remotely?

Remote working careers include roles such as software developers, graphic designers, writers, customer service representatives, digital marketers, and data analysts. What is a Remote Working job?

A remote working job is a position that allows employees to perform their duties from a location outside of a traditional office, typically from home or another remote setting. This setup relies on digital communication tools such as email, video conferencing, and collaboration software to stay connected with teams. Remote work offers flexibility in terms of location and often working hours, depending on the employer's policies. It can be full-time, part-time, or freelance, depending on the job and industry. Building a strong portfolio, gaining relevant certifications, and leveraging platforms like Upwork or Fiverr can help secure higher-paying opportunities, but consistent income at this level usually involves multiple clients or projects and a significant time investment.

What can I expect from the team culture and communication style in fully remote roles?

In fully remote roles, team communication often relies on messaging apps, video calls, and project management platforms to keep everyone connected and aligned. You can expect a culture that values proactive updates, regular check-ins, and clear documentation to ensure transparency and accountability. Many remote teams foster a collaborative environment through virtual meetings, online social events, and shared digital spaces for informal chats. While flexibility is a key benefit, strong communication skills and self-motivation are crucial to staying engaged and contributing to team goals.

Job description

Who we are

Lab37 Robotics, is a technology company focused on the development and deployment of robots designed specifically for direct-to-customer food production. Our mission is to revolutionize the food industry by creating innovative robotic solutions that enhance efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. We are passionate about pushing the boundaries of technology to deliver cutting-edge products that meet the evolving needs of our clients.ย

Job Description

The Triage & Applications Specialist will play a critical role in keeping Lab37's robotic systems operational in the field. This person will serve as a system "super user," helping diagnose and resolve user and operator issues, coordinate with remote technical teams, and ensure problems are clearly understood, prioritized, and driven to resolution.ย

This role will alternate on-call responsibilities, with on-call coverage that may require availability for up to 24 hours per day. The role will also provide backup support for field services and onsite assistance when needed. The ideal candidate is comfortable troubleshooting remotely, navigating complex user interfaces,ย

communicating clearly with technical and non-technical users, and occasionally traveling to support system recovery, deployments, customer/operator support, and field investigations. Travel is expected for this role and may vary based on field support needs. Travel is generally anticipated to be less than 10 days per month, though occasional exceptions may occur based on business or customer needs.ย

What you'll doย ย

  • Serve as a first-line technical responder for fielded systems, alternating on-call responsibilities and helping resolve user, operator, and customer-reported issues.ย
  • Triage incoming issues by gathering context, identifying severity, reproducing problems when possible, documenting findings, and escalating clearly when engineering or field support is required.ย
  • Develop a deep understanding of Lab37's robotic systems, user interfaces, workflows, operational procedures, and common failure modes in order to act as a system super user.
  • Coordinate with remote teams, including engineering, operations, manufacturing, field services, and customer support, to restore systems to working condition as quickly and safely as possible.
  • Act as a backup for field services and onsite assistance, including support for deployments, troubleshooting escalations, system checkout, customer/operator support, and issue resolution in the field.ย
  • Travel is not a primary responsibility but would be as needed to support field services ย

What we are looking for

  • Experience supporting, operating, or troubleshooting complex technical systems, ideally including remote systems, robotics, automation, hardware/software products, or industrial equipment.
  • Strong ability to understand and navigate complex user interfaces, system dashboards, logs, alerts, and operational workflows.ย
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical issues into clear next steps for both technical and non-technical audiences.ย
  • Highly organized and calm under pressure, with strong judgment around prioritization, escalation, customer impact, and when onsite support is needed.
  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus. Experience in applications engineering, technical support, field support, systems operations, robotics, automation, or customer-facing engineering is also preferred.

What else you need to know

Our work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and fulfilling work. We believe that a stimulating and enjoyable workplace is key to driving innovation and achieving excellence. At Lab37 Robotics, every team member plays a vital role in shaping the future of food production, and we are committed to supporting our employees' growth and success.ย

Join us at Lab37 Robotics and be a part of a forward-thinking company that's transforming the way the world approaches food production.

The base salary range for this role is $70,000 - $105,000 per year.

Actual compensation will be determined on an individual basis and may vary depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package. You may also be eligible for equity awards and an annual performance-based bonus.
