As a Clinical Social Worker at Vista Counseling Center, your role will encompass a variety of responsibilities, including:

• Conducting comprehensive assessments to analyze clients' mood disorder symptoms, understanding their severity, frequency, and duration thoroughly.
• Collaborating with clients to create personalized treatment plans that are tailored to their unique needs and recovery goals.
• Implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions that may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), ensuring each method aligns with the best practices in mental health care.
• Providing essential education and support to clients and their families regarding mood disorders, treatment paths, and self-care strategies to promote wellness.
• Monitoring and evaluating client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure maximum efficacy of interventions.
• Building strong collaborative relationships with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary teams to facilitate integrated care.
• Staying current with recent research and treatment advancements in mood disorders, applying this knowledge to inform clinical practices.
• Maintaining detailed and accurate documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress evaluations in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
• Participating actively in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development initiatives to continually enhance clinical skills.
• Advocating for clients, working towards reducing stigma surrounding mood disorders and promoting their mental health needs.

Your focus will primarily be on clients grappling with mood disorders including, but not limited to, depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. Engaging with a diverse client base, you will adapt therapeutic techniques to meet varying cultural perspectives, ages, and socioeconomic statuses. Your empathetic approach will help connect with clients on a personal level, fostering an environment conducive to healing.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A valid and active license as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in California.
• A minimum of three years of direct clinical experience in mental health settings, with a preferable focus on mood disorders.
