The Licensed Mental Health Counselor position is primarily remote and allows for flexibility while ensuring professional engagement with patients. You will be operating within an outpatient office context, providing essential therapeutic interventions without the constraints of a traditional clinical setting. • Conducting comprehensive assessments to evaluate patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans that address underlying trauma and promote emotional stability.
• Engaging in regular therapy sessions with patients, utilizing various therapeutic modalities to facilitate healing and coping strategies.
• Monitoring patient progress meticulously, documenting changes in behavior and mental health to adapt and refine treatment plans accordingly.
• Providing education to patients and staff regarding effective coping mechanisms for stress and trauma, ensuring an informed and supportive clinical environment.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers and physicians, to coordinate comprehensive care and the deployment of community resources.

At Newport Academy, you will work closely with individuals who have experienced significant trauma, including emotional, physical, and psychological injuries. Our focus expands to include adolescents and young adults who are grappling with issues such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and adjustment disorders. Your role will be crucial in empowering them to navigate life's challenges through tailored therapeutic interventions.

• A valid Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution is required.
• Current certification as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida.
• A minimum of three years of professional experience working with trauma-affected populations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is necessary, along with familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Demonstrated excellent communication skills, with an ability to foster rapport and trust with clients.
• Experience with Salesforce or similar database management tools is a plus.

• Previous work in outpatient settings focusing on trauma recovery.
• Demonstrated ability to use evidence-based practices in therapeutic sessions.
• Experience in developing and implementing educational workshops on mental health topics.
