What is a remote wiki?

Remote Wiki jobs involve creating, editing, and managing content on online wiki platforms from a remote location. These roles often require strong research, writing, and collaboration skills since the work typically involves gathering accurate information and presenting it clearly for a wide audience. Remote Wiki professionals may work for organizations maintaining internal knowledge bases or contribute to public wikis like Wikipedia. The flexibility of remote work allows contributors to collaborate with global teams and manage their own schedules.

Proficiency in tools like MediaWiki, Confluence, or other collaborative documentation platforms is typically required. Attention to detail, self-motivation, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for excelling in a remote and collaborative environment. These skills ensure accurate, well-organized, and up-to-date information is maintained, supporting team productivity and knowledge sharing.

  • Conduct thoughtful reviews of applications, automations, and configurations for clarity, maintainability, and correctness, raise the bar on testing and documentation.
  • Support production solutions, lead incident triage for the team's area using execution history, logs, and telemetry, and document findings and fixes in the team wiki and repository READMEs where appropriate.
  • Contribute to incident reviews and follow-ups that reduce repeat issues, including improvements to error handling, alerts, and resilience patterns.
  • Apply sound solution architecture principles in everyday work, guide Application Developer 1 teammates on the basics, and improve observability, reliability, security, and privacy baselines for owned solutions.
  • Partner with product and design on solution shaping, highlight risks and tradeoffs such as platform licensing, performance, and governance constraints, and propose pragmatic alternatives.
  • Contribute to team design documents, review designs for adjacent solutions or integrations, and champion documentation quality.
  • Identify and deliver incremental refactors that reduce toil, improve performance, and increase reuse across low-code solutions.
  • Participate in daily standups and core team ceremonies, communicate status and risks early.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • 1 year minimum required. Candidates should be able to demonstrate hands-on OutSystems development capability through prior work, portfolio projects, OutSystems certification, technical assessment, or production support experience.
  • Strong communication, mentoring, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues systematically using logs, execution history, data review, reproduction steps, and clear root-cause analysis.
  • Communicates blockers early, asks thoughtful questions, and escalates risks with enough context for the team to make decisions.
  • Comfortable participating in the weekly on-call rotation and improving support documentation so teammates at all levels can handle cases.
  • Ability to use AI-assisted development tools responsibly while validating outputs, protecting sensitive data, and maintaining code quality.
  • Experience troubleshooting REST/SOAP APIs, authentication issues, integration failures, and third-party system dependencies, including integrations built in Integration Studio.
  • Hands-on experience in the OutSystems platform, Service Studio and Integration Studio, with OutSystems 11 Reactive Web and/or OutSystems Developer Cloud (ODC), including using LifeTime or ODC for application lifecycle and deployment. Application Developer 2.
  • Working knowledge of the web stack OutSystems is built on (JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and SQL), building responsive Reactive Web UI for desktop and iPad browsers, and the ability to extend applications with C#/.NET when low-code alone is not sufficient.
  • Familiarity with OutSystems architecture best practices, including the Architecture Canvas / three-layer canvas, reusable modules, and efficient Application Object (AO) consumption.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment when weighing speed, maintainability, user experience, risk, performance, and platform constraints.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling with OutSystems Entities and Aggregates, building and consuming REST/SOAP integrations, JSON, authentication concepts (Roles and Groups), and testing strategies for OutSystems applications and automations.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is a plus but not required; equivalent practical experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Clear technical writing, facilitation of design and code reviews, and effective stakeholder communication.
  • Preferred: OutSystems certification, such as Associate Reactive Developer (O11) or Associate Developer (ODC); Web Developer or Architecture specializations are a plus.
