Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct individual counseling sessions with clients via secure video chat to facilitate mental health improvement.
• Encourage open discussion around emotions and personal experiences, enabling clients to gain insight into their mental health and relationships.
• Act as a client advocate by assisting them in defining therapeutic goals that align with their personal growth.
• Evaluate clients’ mental health conditions comprehensively and develop individualized treatment plans utilizing a solution-based approach derived from your clinical expertise.
• Maintain accurate and ethical records of client conversation and progress, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA guidelines.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The clients you will serve are pre-screened and have low acuity mental health needs, which means they are stable and ready for therapeutic engagement. This focus not only facilitates meaningful therapeutic dialogues but also allows you to apply evidence-based techniques effectively, enhancing outcomes without the added pressure of handling crisis situations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling.
• Must possess an independent license—either as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)—issued by the relevant state board; limited or provisional licenses are not accepted.
• Exceptional ability to make professional evaluations, treatment decisions, and maintain effective therapeutic rapport with clients.
• Demonstrated competence in utilizing technological tools for therapy including video conferencing and electronic records management.
• Compassionate and empathetic approach with strong interpersonal skills to connect genuinely with clients.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in a remote counseling setting is desirable but not essential.
• Experience with diverse client populations and familiarity with different cultural backgrounds.
• Knowledge of various therapeutic modalities is an advantage.
