Work Environment

This position offers the flexibility of a remote work setting, enabling counselors to manage their time effectively while interacting with clients. The outpatient office framework ensures that while client meetings may occur virtually, support staff, administrative resources, and team collaboration are always accessible to facilitate efficient service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify and address the mental health needs of clients.
• Facilitate communication with supervisors, direct care staff, family members, and guardians to provide updates on client progress and treatment plans.
• Develop and share a structured plan with supervisors, detailing scheduled appointments, home visits, and monitoring sessions to track therapeutic milestones.
• Organize home visits for in-home assessments, chart reviews, and interviews to ensure comprehensive understanding of client circumstances.
• Participate actively in Interdisciplinary Team Meetings to discuss client treatment strategies and progress collaboratively.
• Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly progress reports, highlighting client outcomes and areas for improvement.
• Lead training sessions to aid staff and colleagues in executing program plans and documentation effectively.
• Perform follow-up interviews and observations consistent with client care protocols to ascertain ongoing effectiveness of treatment.
• Maintain detailed and organized client records to ensure accessibility of vital information for all stakeholders.
• Act as a liaison between clients and the broader mental health community to provide resources and support that align with developmental goals.
• Contribute to the creation and refinement of training materials aimed at improving program effectiveness and staff capability.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.
• An active and unrestricted license to practice as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia is mandatory.
• At least two years of counseling experience, with a strong preference for candidates with a clinical background.
• Expertise in areas such as family therapy, couples therapy, substance misuse, or trauma is highly valued.
• Demonstrable understanding of legal and ethical standards in mental health practice.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport with a diverse client base.
• Proficient teamwork abilities demonstrated through collaboration with healthcare professionals.
• Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software and relevant technology for efficient practice management.

Preferred Experience

• Specialization in working with children and adolescents, including experience developing age-appropriate treatment plans.
• Background in community mental health services or integrated care settings.
