Job description

Virginia Pediatric Group is a Pediatric practice in Northern Virginia and we are seeking a Human Resources Generalist with 2-5 years of experience.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the staffing process, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding
  • Ensure job descriptions are up to date and compliant with all local and federal regulations
  • Contact applicant's references and perform background checks required by the company
  • Ensure all hiring paperwork is completed accurately and that new employees are effectively guided through their onboarding process from day one and beyond
  • Explain and provide information on employee benefits
  • Investigate employee issues and conflicts and bring them to resolution
  • Cover all legal compliance for human resources, federal and state requirements
  • Maintain employee records and paperwork
  • Ensure the organization's compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Ensure all company HR policies are applied consistently
  • Maintain company organization charts and employee directory
  • Partner with the Office Administrator to ensure strategic HR goals are aligned with business initiatives
  • Analyze trends in compensation and benefits

About the Position:
The job hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The candidate must be able to work full-time, either in the office or on location.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or and equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Experience planning, developing, and managing human resources programs, policies, procedures, and reporting;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively;
  • Ability to take responsibility for work productivity and routine issues as they arise while demonstrating effective time management skills;
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills;
  • Coordination, organizational skills to perform day-to-day duties;
  • Ability to effectively multi-task;
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands, and able to deal with frequent change or unexpected events;


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of HR experience, preferably in a medical setting;
  • Knowledge of local, sate, and federal human resources policies and practices with the ability to properly interpret, communicate, and provide guidance to department members on such policies;
  • Ability to take direction from others, anticipate and resolve problems with limited supervision;
  • Experience working with sensitive and confidential information;
