Works Closely With: All Internal stakeholders

Hourly Rate Range: $75,000-$80,000/year

Designation: Remote working in the Eastern Time Zone. Position involves work-related travel in the United States two times per year including the Annual Conference in March of each year and an All Staff retreat in July of each year.

Job Description

Job Overview 

We are seeking a Digital Marketing and Web Manager who will utilize digital channels to support AMS' mission of providing the leadership, standards, and resources to advance Montessori as a research-validated, enduring model for education.  

The Digital Marketing and Web Manager will serve as the strategic digital lead for all of AMS' web presences-primarily amshq.org-ensuring they function as high-performing communication channels for awareness, engagement, and conversion. This role is designed for a forward-thinking digital marketer with strong expertise in web platform management, digital advertising, content management, and user experience. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of championing a community, emerging platforms, and digital storytelling, combined with strong analytical skills and the ability to translate insights into action. 

Key Responsibilities  

Website Management 

  • Oversee AMS's WordPress website (amshq.org), ensuring accessibility, usability, and high conversions for key actions (e.g., memberships, event registrations). 

  • Builds webpages adhering to UX/UI best practices across a variety of platforms.  

  • Alongside subject matter experts, uses hierarchy to create engaging and compelling content webpages  

  • Manage associated AMS platforms including AMS Learning (Elevate platform), AMS Connect community platform (Higher Logic), AMS Jobs Board (JobBoardHQ), and Events (Cvent), evaluating functionality and driving updates or improvements as needed. 

  • Work collaboratively with marketing colleagues to align web content and ad messaging with broader AMS goals and initiatives. 

  • Provide guidance and guidelines to ensure content aligns with SEO, AEO, and GEO, usability, and conversion best practices. 

  • Assess new and emerging creative mediums, approaches, tools, and best practices, including AI and others, to drive process improvement and optimize response rates to attract, retain, and engage members. 

  • Actively look for website enhancements, perform keyword and competitor research, and identify opportunities for content development & refinement. 

  • Establish, implement, and enforce website governance that includes publication workflows, content review and audit schedules, and definitions of roles, permissions and responsibilities.   

Digital Advertising & Analytics 

  • Develop, launch, and optimize paid advertising campaigns across Google (both Google Ad Grants and retargeting), LinkedIn, and Meta. 

  • Use GA4 and other tools to measure website and campaign performance, creating actionable reports to guide data driven decision making. 

  • Continuously track and optimize campaigns for performance, including A/B testing of creatives, landing pages, and ad placements. 

Optimization & Strategy 

  • Analyze digital performance metrics to identify areas for improvement, implement solutions, and report progress to leadership. 

  • Lead efforts to improve website functionality, navigation, and user experience based on data insights and user feedback. 

  • Coordinate with external partners to enhance AMS's digital ecosystem ensuring cohesion and scalability. 

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in digital marketing, with a strong focus on website management, analytics, and paid advertising. 

  • Hands-on experience managing WordPress websites, including updates, optimizations, and collaboration with external web agencies

  • Proficiency with digital advertising, including Google Ads, Meta Ads, and LinkedIn. Familiarity with HubSpot or a similar marketing automation platform

  • Knowledge of SEO and AEO/GEO, including keyword optimization, technical SEO, and content alignment

  • Proven ability to analyze data with relevant reporting and data visualization tools using insights to optimize campaigns, web performance, and user experience

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate both technical and non-technical information between technology partners and internal staff

  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results 

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with remote teams 

  • Experience in nonprofit marketing

  • Knowledge or interest in Montessori Education a plus

  • Maintains a positive, flexible and collaborative approach in a team environment
