Remote Web Content Migration information

What is remote web content migration?

Remote web content migration is the process of transferring website content—such as text, images, videos, and documents—from one platform or content management system (CMS) to another, all while working remotely. This role involves planning, organizing, and executing the migration to ensure that all digital assets are accurately moved without data loss or formatting issues. Professionals in this field must have strong attention to detail, knowledge of various CMS platforms, and the ability to troubleshoot any issues that arise during the migration process. Effective communication and project management skills are also valuable, as these roles often involve coordinating with distributed teams.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote web content migration specialist?

To succeed as a Remote Web Content Migration Specialist, you need strong attention to detail, experience with CMS platforms, and familiarity with HTML/CSS or web publishing standards. Proficiency with tools like WordPress, Drupal, or migration scripts, along with knowledge of data management and version control systems, is typically required. Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and self-motivation are vital soft skills for coordinating with remote teams and managing complex migration projects. These skills ensure accurate content transfer, minimal downtime, and a smooth transition to updated web environments.

What are some common challenges faced during remote web content migration projects, and how can I address them?

A frequent challenge in remote web content migration is ensuring consistent communication and coordination across distributed teams, which can lead to misalignment or delays. Additionally, you may encounter issues with content formatting discrepancies, broken links, or missing assets during the transfer process. To address these challenges, it's important to use collaborative tools for project tracking, maintain clear documentation of migration guidelines, and schedule regular check-ins with stakeholders. Testing and validation at each migration stage can also help catch errors early and ensure a smooth transition.

Job description

Description

Project Management at PINT means several things, but most of all it means you love the web. You'll work hand-in-hand with PINT's professionals to deliver web and digital solutions and education to our customers, while expanding your knowledge alongside career internet veterans. You'll work with in-house developers, engineers, researchers, and designers, coordinating their efforts towards project success.

This role requires direct responsibility for project planning, scope delimiting, resource management, and project delivery.

You have the support of the longest-standing web agency in San Diego and decades of experience and knowledge on which to draw, but ultimately you are the one who gets the job done.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in a web dev, creative, or marketing agency
    • At least 2 years of autonomous project management experience (no day-to-day oversight)
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred, equivalent experience will be considered
  • Client stakeholder management required (C-level, Director, VP)
  • Solid project management fundamentals:
    • SDLC waterfall and agile, without dogmatism
    • Team and resource management skills
    • Process oriented
    • PMP is nice to have
  • Other technologies or methodologies of which you may show a strong, working knowledge:
    • Widely-used CMS familiarity
    • Development tools & workflows (IDEs, Version Control, Content Management)
    • Design prototyping and production tools (Figma, CC, etc)
    • Common cloud services and managed hosting environments
    • Familiarity with digital marketing and/or design is highly desirable
    • Hopefully a little HTML, CSS, JS, or PHP doesn't scare you!

If you're interested in the web you will have encountered some of these and more we haven't listed. We're more intrigued by your conceptual background than the details, but we trust you to have the drive and intellectual curiosity to rapidly pick up what you don't already know.

This position offers a competitive benefits package including fully-paid medical, dental, & vision (including dependents) and a good work/life balance. PINT values the creative collisions and collaborative space of the physical environment (we hope you do, too), so we operate from our home base in Pacific Beach with a flexible remote work policy.
