Remote Web Browser information

What is a remote web browser?

A Remote Web Browser is a tool or service that allows users to browse the internet using a web browser that runs on a remote server instead of their local device. This setup can enhance privacy, security, and performance by isolating browsing sessions from the user's computer and protecting against malware or tracking. Remote web browsers are often used in enterprise environments, secure research, or by individuals who want to access geo-restricted content. They can be accessed through web portals or specialized applications, providing a familiar browsing experience with added security benefits.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote web browser?

To thrive as a Remote Web Browser, you need strong internet research abilities, attention to detail, and proficiency in evaluating and verifying online information, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with various web browsers, search engines, content management systems, and sometimes data entry platforms is typically required. Excellent time management, self-motivation, and effective written communication help set candidates apart in remote roles. These skills are essential to ensure accurate, timely, and reliable internet research and data gathering in a distributed work environment.

What are some common challenges faced by remote web browsers when working with distributed teams?

Remote Web Browsers often collaborate with teams spread across different locations and time zones, which can make real-time communication and coordination challenging. Clear documentation, regular check-ins, and using shared project management tools can help ensure everyone stays aligned. Additionally, adapting to various web environments and client preferences requires flexibility and strong self-management skills. Building relationships with colleagues virtually also takes extra effort but is crucial for effective teamwork.

Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Junior Manual QA Engineer (Web, CRM) based in Netherlands.

This is an opportunity for an early-career QA professional to help protect the quality of web products used by a large international audience.
You will test features across web applications, APIs, databases, analytics, personalization flows, and marketing logic.
The role provides hands-on exposure to high-load digital products and complex cross-platform user journeys.
You will work closely with backend, mobile, and product teams within Scrum and SDLC environments.
Beyond executing tests, you will investigate defects, improve testing practices, and help ensure reliable product releases.
The position is designed for someone curious about backend systems and eager to grow toward broader cross-project or automation testing.
You will join an experienced technical environment where learning, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement are strongly encouraged.

Accountabilities
  • Perform manual functional testing of web applications, including new features and product changes.
  • Test APIs and backend functionality using appropriate API testing tools and validate data through databases.
  • Execute smoke, sanity, and regression testing across web applications and relevant cross-platform flows.
  • Validate marketing logic, personalization scenarios, analytics, and A/B experiments.
  • Conduct browser and cross-platform testing across web, iOS, and Android environments.
  • Create and maintain test cases, checklists, bug reports, and other QA documentation.
  • Investigate defects thoroughly, identify reproducible steps, and communicate findings clearly to development teams.
  • Collaborate with backend, mobile, and other technical teams to validate end-to-end functionality.
  • Maintain testing reports and provide visibility into testing progress, defects, and quality status.
  • Work within Scrum and SDLC processes and participate effectively in team activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency, coverage, and overall product quality.
  • Contribute ideas and practical improvements that can help the QA function evolve toward more advanced and automated testing practices.
Requirements
  • At least 6 months of professional experience in manual testing of web applications.
  • Practical experience with API testing tools and understanding of API validation.
  • Hands-on experience working with databases and validating application data.
  • Experience with cross-platform and browser testing, including web, iOS, and Android.
  • Familiarity with test management platforms such as Qase, TestRail, or similar tools.
  • Understanding of functional, smoke, sanity, and regression testing approaches.
  • Ability to investigate issues critically and produce clear, reproducible bug reports.
  • Familiarity with Scrum and software development lifecycle processes.
  • Proactive attitude, strong critical-thinking skills, and willingness to learn quickly.
  • Strong organizational skills and a results-oriented approach.
  • Intermediate or higher English proficiency.
  • Experience with MongoDB Compass is a plus.
  • Familiarity with proxy debugging tools such as Charles, Fiddler, or Proxyman is advantageous.
  • Experience testing marketing-related functionality, personalization, or experimentation is an additional advantage.
Benefits
  • 20 paid vacation days, 15 sick leave days, plus 6 additional days off for family events.
  • 100% medical insurance coverage.
  • Sports and equipment reimbursement.
  • Flexible working arrangements, including remote work options.
  • Modern company equipment or support for using your own equipment.
  • Team-building activities, corporate gifts, and company merchandise.
  • Financial and legal support.
  • Maternity Recovery Support Allowance.
  • Position retention and support for employees who join the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
  • Opportunities to participate in social initiatives supporting Ukraine.
  • Collaboration with experienced Middle and Senior professionals and exposure to practical QA and product-development expertise.
  • Strong internal career-development opportunities, with many leaders having progressed into their current roles internally.
  • Performance-oriented reviews and Individual Development Plans.
  • Reimbursement for professional courses and English-language classes.
  • Access to a corporate library, book club, and knowledge-sharing activities.
