Remote Wearable Technology professionals focus on integrating wearable devices into systems and applications, often working with hardware and software teams. In contrast, Remote Wearable Device Developers specialize in creating and coding the actual wearable devices. Both roles require technical expertise but differ in scope and focus within the wearable tech industry.

What is remote wearable technology?

Remote wearable technology jobs involve working with electronic devices that can be worn on the body, such as smartwatches, fitness trackers, and health monitors, while performing duties from a remote location. These roles may include developing hardware or software, analyzing data, providing customer support, or researching new wearable innovations. Professionals in this field often collaborate with teams virtually and use cloud-based tools to contribute to the design, testing, and improvement of wearable devices.

What is the demand for remote wearable technology?

The demand for remote wearable technology jobs, including roles like remote wearable technology specialists, is growing due to increased adoption of health monitoring devices, fitness trackers, and remote health management solutions. Employers seek professionals skilled in device integration, data analysis, and user experience design to support expanding markets in healthcare, fitness, and consumer electronics.

How does a remote wearable technology professional typically collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver successful projects?

Professionals in remote wearable technology often work closely with software engineers, hardware designers, UX/UI specialists, and data analysts to develop and refine products. Collaboration is typically managed through digital communication tools, regular virtual meetings, and shared project management platforms to ensure alignment across time zones. This role requires proactive communication and adaptability, as teams are often distributed globally and must coordinate to meet technical requirements, user needs, and project deadlines. Building strong relationships and maintaining clear documentation are essential for ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the product development lifecycle.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote wearable technology specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Wearable Technology Specialist, you need a solid understanding of wearable devices, data analytics, and software troubleshooting, often supported by a degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field. Familiarity with IoT platforms, mobile app integration, device management systems, and certifications like CompTIA ITF+ or vendor-specific credentials are common requirements. Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to work independently are crucial soft skills for this role. These skills ensure reliable device performance, seamless user support, and the ability to adapt to evolving technology in a remote work environment.

Join Us in Building the Future of Human Performanceย

Atย Viction,ย we'reย not building another health app -ย we'reย building a new category of human performance technology.ย

Our mission is to empower people to better understand themselves and continuously improve every aspect of their health and performance through scientifically grounded insights, intelligent coaching, and beautifully designed technology.ย

We believe sophisticated health science should feel simple, actionable, and inspiring. By combining biomarkers, wearable technologies, nutrition, recovery, behavioral science, and artificial intelligence into a unified platform,ย Victionย will help individuals make better daily performance-based decisions,ย ultimately allowingย them to realize their full potential.ย

We'reย seeking an experienced product leader who is energized by the opportunity to help define an entirely new category of human performance technology. This is a rare opportunity to shape not only a product, but the direction of a company.ย

The Opportunityย

Product Strategy and Design are inseparable atย Viction. As our Fractional Director of Product Strategy & Design, you will serve as the steward of our product vision, translating strategy into execution while ensuring every feature contributes to a cohesive, differentiated, and compelling member experience.ย

This is a founding product leadership opportunity.ย You'llย work directly with our founders, advisory board, UX/UI designers, engineers, AI specialists, and domain experts toย determineย what we build, why we build it, and how we deliver an experience that members genuinely love.ย

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

What You'll Ownย

  • What problems deserve solvingย

  • Which features matter mostย

  • Which features should waitย

  • How features reinforce one anotherย

  • What creates lasting competitive differentiationย

  • What gets built, and why it gets builtย

  • Feature priorities, technical and business dependencies, and product sequencingย

  • Release planningย

  • Protection of MVP discipline while guiding long-term platform evolutionย

Core Responsibilitiesย

  • Lead product strategy and evolve the long-term product visionย

  • Translate strategy into product roadmaps, epics, user stories, and development plansย

  • Lead product discovery, customer research, and journey mappingย

  • Guide UX/UI direction to create a premium consumer-grade experienceย

  • Own the end-to-end member experience across onboarding, AI coaching, scoring, education, engagement, and retentionย

  • Partner across engineering, design, AI, clinical, marketing, and leadership teamsย

  • Champion a scalable design system and exceptional product qualityย

  • Continuouslyย validateย assumptions through customer feedback and analyticsย

  • Monitor emerging trends in AI, digital health, wearables, and human performanceย

Education & Experience

Who You Areย

  • An experienced product leader with a passion for building consumer productsย

  • Equally comfortable discussing customer psychology, UX, AI, engineering trade-offs, and business strategyย

  • A systems thinker who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys creating clarityย

  • A collaborative leader who inspires teams without relying on formal authorityย

  • Someone who believes every feature should have aย purposeย and every interaction should build trustย

Preferred Experienceย

  • Consumer mobile applicationsย

  • Digital health, wellness, or human performanceย

  • AI-enabled productsย

  • Wearables and connected devicesย

  • Subscription platformsย

  • Behavior-change or coaching productsย

  • Startup or early-stage company experienceย

Certifications
  • Industry related certifications are a plusย
Other (Travel, Work Environment, DoD 8570 Requirements, Administrative Notes, etc.)

Work Arrangement: 100% Remote, fractional engagement (~20 hours per week)ย

What Success Looks Likeย

  • Build the right product, not simply adding more featuresย

  • Create a product experience that feels premium, intuitive, and motivatingย

  • Translate vision into disciplined executionย

  • Help positionย Victionย as a category leader in human performanceย

Why Joinย Viction?ย

This is an opportunity to influence the direction of a company from its earliest stages.ย You'llย have meaningful experiences, direct access to founders, the ability to shape product strategy and experience, and the satisfaction of helping build technology that can genuinely improve people's lives.ย

Ifย you'reย energized by creating products that blend science, design, technology, and human behavior, and want to leave your fingerprint on something extraordinary,ย we'dย love to meet you.ย

$125 - $175 an hour
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.ย The posted range is appropriate for a typical candidate meeting, at a minimum, all the core requirements of the position.
