Job Description

RESPEC, seeks a Water Resource Project Engineer in our Water market sector, located in our Sarasota or Tampa, FL locations.

As a Project Engineer you will be involved with all types of planning, design, and specialty services relating to the stormwater and water resources engineering field. Projects often involve hydrology, hydraulics, floodplain analyses, community improvements, environmental compliance and permitting, infrastructure resiliency, stormwater engineering, and watershed modeling for our public and private sector clients.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related engineering field
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in stormwater or water resources engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida, or ability to obtain Florida licensure within 1 year of start date
  • Practical application of various H&H software (e.g. BMP Trains, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HSPF, ICPR, MODRET, StormCAD, StormWise, SWMM, etc.)
  • At least 3 years of experience in the following:
    • Mentoring and leading junior engineers in technical and non-technical aspects of stormwater engineering
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in the following:
    • Practical knowledge of developing and guiding construction plan preparation
    • Providing engineering services in Manatee, Sarasota Counties, and surrounding counties
    • Environmental resource and civil site permitting
    • Successful delivery of water resources and civil engineering planning studies, designs, and construction documents
    • AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS
