Regular business hours are expected, but occasional evening and weekend work may be required to accommodate clients' schedules and program activities in a detox center environment.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify clients' social, emotional, and environmental challenges, ensuring that each individual's needs are thoroughly understood.
• Develop personalized service plans that include clearly defined goals, interventions, and progress monitoring to promote better outcomes for clients.
• Provide one-on-one counseling and support to individuals and families facing significant life challenges, particularly related to substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
• Engage in crisis intervention, including risk assessment and safety planning, to ensure the immediate safety and well-being of clients during vulnerable moments.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including medical staff and other social workers, to advocate for and coordinate comprehensive care for clients utilizing community resources.
• Participate in case conferences and team meetings, contributing insights and strategies to support collective goals and improve service delivery.
• Actively engage in community outreach initiatives to raise awareness of available resources and promote agency services, enhancing the organization's presence in the community.

The primary focus of this position is to support adults navigating the challenges associated with substance use disorders, particularly those undergoing detoxification. Female and male clients may come from varied backgrounds, often experiencing intersecting issues such as trauma, mental health disorders, and socioeconomic hardships. Our approach prioritizes cultural competence, trauma-informed care, and a commitment to overcoming the stigma often associated with mental health services.

• A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required for the LCSW designation.
• Active licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Illinois is mandatory.
• Demonstrated understanding of social and economic justice issues, including knowledge of community resources for substance abuse recovery and mental health support.
• Exceptional communication skills, strong cultural competency, and effective problem-solving abilities to engage with diverse populations.

• Previous experience in a social service agency, mental health clinic, or healthcare setting focusing on addiction treatment is highly advantageous.
• Experience working within a detox environment or with clients facing substance use issues is preferred to effectively handle the unique challenges presented within this role.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care methodologies and practices.
