Job description

Position Overview

Caring Companions Behavioral Health Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate mental health therapist to join our remote telehealth team. This full-time position focuses on providing essential therapy services to individuals who have experienced trauma, thereby helping them navigate their journeys toward recovery and emotional well-being. With a salary range of USD 90,000 to 110,000 annually, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of patients.

About the Organization

Caring Companions Behavioral Health Center is a leading provider of telehealth services dedicated to delivering trauma-informed care. Our mission revolves around offering comprehensive mental health support tailored to the unique needs of trauma survivors. Our team is committed to fostering a safe, empathetic, and supportive environment that helps patients process their experiences and rebuild their lives.

Work Environment

This position is entirely remote, allowing you to work from the comfort of your own home while connecting with patients across Arlington, Texas, and beyond. The telehealth facility provides the necessary technology and resources to deliver effective virtual therapy sessions, ensuring a seamless experience for both therapists and clients. While the standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, we understand that flexibility may be needed to accommodate patient appointments.

Key Responsibilities

As a Mental Health Therapist at Caring Companions, you will carry a diverse set of responsibilities that directly influence patient care and recovery. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to gauge patients' histories and identify the most effective therapeutic approaches tailored to their individual needs.
  • Creating and executing nuanced treatment plans aimed at trauma recovery, emphasizing resilience and personal growth.
  • Utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) during individual and group sessions.
  • Facilitating therapy sessions that encourage patients to both process their trauma and develop practical coping strategies.
  • Collaborating with psychiatrists and other multidisciplinary professionals to ensure an integrated approach to patient care.
  • Providing immediate crisis intervention to support patients during traumatic episodes or acute distress situations.
  • Educating patients and their families about trauma responses, effective coping mechanisms, and available community resources.
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality and accurate documentation that adheres to both legal and ethical standards.
  • Participating in team consultations, contributing to ongoing professional development focused on trauma-informed practices; staying current with emerging research and therapeutic innovations.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on individuals directly impacted by trauma, including those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Understanding the diverse backgrounds and experiences of this population is crucial to providing effective, sensitive care. You will also engage with patients who may face barriers to accessing mental health resources, thus requiring your expertise to navigate their recovery effectively.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications:

  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Texas.
  • A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience is preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of trauma-related disorders, treatment modalities, and resilience-focused strategies.
  • Proven track record in delivering trauma-focused therapies and intervention strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated through a compassionate and non-judgmental therapeutic approach.
  • The ability to maintain composure in high-stress scenarios and make sound clinical judgments.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and virtual communication technologies.
  • A collaborative spirit, eager to work within a multidisciplinary team for the best patient outcomes.
Preferred Experience

In addition to the above qualifications, experience with specific therapeutic techniques pertinent to trauma recovery (such as EMDR or TF-CBT) and familiarity with working in remote settings will be considered beneficial. Prior involvement in case consultations and interprofessional collaboration will enhance your effectiveness in this role.

Compensation and Benefits

In addition to a competitive salary ranging from USD 90,000 to 110,000 annually, we offer a robust benefits package that includes:

  • Comprehensive healthcare benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • A retirement savings plan with employer-matching contributions.
  • A generous paid time off (PTO) policy and holiday pay, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.
  • Professional liability insurance coverage to safeguard you in your practice.
  • Continuing education opportunities and support for ongoing professional development in trauma-informed care.
  • Opportunities for career advancement within our organization aimed at expanding trauma-informed practices.

Caring Companions Behavioral Health Center prioritizes your professional development. We encourage all team members to pursue continuing education and specialized training, ensuring you stay at the forefront of trauma therapy practices. As you grow in your role, there will be ample chances to take on leadership responsibilities and contribute to shaping our approach to trauma-informed care.
