What is a remote video job?

Remote video jobs are positions that involve creating, editing, producing, or managing video content from a location outside of a traditional office setting, often from home. These roles include video editors, videographers, motion graphic designers, and video producers who collaborate with teams or clients online. Remote video professionals use digital tools and cloud-based platforms to share, review, and deliver video projects. The demand for remote video jobs has increased as more companies embrace flexible work arrangements and digital content creation.

How does communication and collaboration typically work in remote video production teams?

In remote video production roles, clear and frequent communication is essential, often facilitated by project management tools, regular video meetings, and messaging platforms. Team members, such as editors, producers, and motion graphic artists, typically collaborate across different time zones, making detailed documentation and version control crucial. Sharing feedback on footage, scripts, and edits is usually done asynchronously, so strong organizational skills and responsiveness are key. This structure allows for flexibility but also requires proactive engagement to keep projects on track and ensure creative alignment.

WebstaurantStore is seeking a talented Video Scriptwriter to join our team. This role is responsible for developing compelling scripts that educate, entertain, and inspire action across a wide range of marketing, brand, and educational content.

The ideal candidate is an exceptional storyteller who can transform complex topics into engaging narratives while helping shape the creative direction behind each project. This role goes beyond writing dialogue; it involves researching topics, developing storylines, defining messaging, building creative concepts, and collaborating with cross-functional partners to produce best-in-class video content.

Approximately 60% of this role will focus on video scriptwriting and story development, while the remaining 40% will support marketing campaigns through advertising copy, social media content, and other brand communications.

ResponsibilitiesVideo Scriptwriting

  • Develop scripts that align with WebstaurantStore's brand voice while balancing educational value with entertainment.
  • Revise and refine scripts based on stakeholder feedback while maintaining narrative quality and strategic messaging.
  • Partner with producers, directors, editors, and on-camera talent throughout the production process.

Story Development & Creative Concepting
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define story structure, messaging, creative direction, and content objectives before scripting begins.
  • Conduct research to gain a deep understanding of products, customers, industries, and subject matter.
  • Develop creative concepts that support marketing initiatives, product launches, recruiting efforts, and brand storytelling.
  • Create interview guides and question frameworks for customer stories, documentary-style productions, and executive interviews.
  • Present creative concepts and script recommendations to leadership and project stakeholders.

  • Paid advertising
  • Social media

  • Partner with Video, Social Media, Design, Paid Media, Procurement, and Culinary teams to develop engaging content that supports business objectives.
  • Participate in creative brainstorming sessions, campaign planning, and content reviews.
  • Balance stakeholder feedback while maintaining creative integrity and delivering high-quality work on schedule.

  • A dedicated home office space that is noise- and distraction-free. The space should have strong wireless connection or a wired Ethernet connection (wired connection is preferred, if possible).
  • A valid, physical address (apartment, suite, etc.). PO Boxes are not supported, as a physical address is required for you to receive your computer equipment.
  • The desire and ability to work and communicate with other team members via chat, webcam, etc.
