- Oversees daily department operations to achieve quality results, productivity, and patient satisfaction goals/objectives.
- Supervises, orients, trains, evaluates, and monitors on-the-job performance.
- Audits and maintains department metrics for unit and organizational goals.
- Promotes quality improvement and systems-thinking by openly supporting and consistently communicating the mission of the department and organization. Collaborates with management team on the development, implementation and evaluation of policies and procedures designed to improve quality of care and operational efficiency.

- Onboards and orients new staff to the role, ensuring role responsibilities, training, and competencies.
- Conducts rounds on each staff member throughout the shift to discuss potential/actual issues.
- Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
