Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney (Merrillville, IN)

Merrillville, IN | On-Site, Hybrid, or Remote

Kelley Kronenberg, a premier national law firm, is seeking a skilled Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney to join our busy Midwest Workers' Compensation team from our Merrillville office. This role is a strong fit for an ambitious attorney who already has a track record in workers' compensation defense and wants to step into an established, active caseload right away. Position Overview:

In this role, you will help manage and grow our workers' compensation defense practice in Northwest Indiana. You will begin with an existing caseload and the backing of a collaborative team across our Merrillville and Indianapolis offices, a group ready to provide training, client insight, and a supportive infrastructure as you get up to speed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle a wide range of workers' compensation defense cases from intake through resolution.
  • Build and carry out effective case strategies in partnership with clients and colleagues, keeping the work aligned with each client's goals.
  • Develop lasting client relationships through responsive, personalized service and clear, consistent communication.
  • Lead thorough pre-trial preparation, including discovery and motions practice, and handle trial, mediation, and arbitration proceedings.
  • Monitor legislative changes, judicial rulings, and industry trends in workers' compensation so you can give clients informed, strategic guidance.
  • Represent the firm and its clients in hearings, mediations, and other dispute resolution proceedings with strong advocacy.
  • Work closely with our attorneys and support staff to uphold the high standard of representation Kelley Kronenberg is known for.
Qualifications:
  • At least three years of litigation experience, with a focus on workers' compensation defense.
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and admission to the Indiana Bar.
  • Proven ability to manage complex legal issues, negotiate effectively, and juggle a varied caseload.
  • Outstanding legal research and writing skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • A firm commitment to the highest ethical standards and professionalism.
