Job description

Venture Dynamics is seeking an experienced Oracle Developer to support enterprise database and application development across client environments in various U.S. locations. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining Oracle-based solutions that support business operations and data integrity. The Oracle Developer will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions within both commercial and government-supported environments. Assignments are project-based and may continue based on performance and contract demand.


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement Oracle-based solutions to support client business systems
  • Develop and maintain database objects including tables, views, stored procedures, and functions
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Oracle databases and application performance
  • Optimize database performance, queries, and indexing strategies to ensure system efficiency
  • Conduct code reviews and maintain coding standards for high-quality deliverables
  • Support data integrity, security, and backup/recovery processes within Oracle environments
  • Provide technical guidance and support to internal team members and junior developers

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as an Oracle Developer or in a similar database role
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture, design, and data modeling
  • Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL programming
  • Experience developing and managing database objects such as procedures, triggers, and packages
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex database and performance issues independently
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a technical environment
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in team-based project settings

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Oracle Forms and Reports
  • Familiarity with Oracle E-Business Suite or other ERP systems
  • Experience working in government, defense, or regulated environments
  • Knowledge of database security best practices and data compliance standards
  • Exposure to Agile or project-based development methodologies

Work is performed in professional office or remote environments supporting enterprise systems and client operations. The role may require collaboration with distributed teams and participation in scheduled project meetings. Reliable transportation may be required if supporting on-site client locations.
