In a remote vendor risk management role, one common challenge is maintaining clear and consistent communication with both internal teams and external vendors, especially when operating across different time zones. Additionally, ensuring thorough due diligence and risk assessments without in-person site visits can be difficult. These challenges can be addressed by leveraging secure collaboration platforms, setting well-defined processes for virtual assessments, and building strong relationships through regular check-ins and transparent reporting. Proactive organization and adaptability are key to managing risks effectively in a remote environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in Remote Vendor Risk Management, and why are they important?

To excel in Remote Vendor Risk Management, you need expertise in risk assessment, third-party due diligence, and compliance, often supported by a degree in business, finance, or a related field. Familiarity with risk management platforms (like Archer or LogicManager), knowledge of regulatory frameworks (such as GDPR or SOC 2), and relevant certifications (e.g., CRVPM, CTPRP) are typically required. Strong analytical thinking, effective communication, and the ability to collaborate virtually are valuable soft skills for this role. These abilities ensure organizations can identify, assess, and mitigate vendor-related risks while maintaining regulatory compliance in a remote work environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO AS A SR DIRECTOR, GAMING COMPLIANCE RISK

  • Executive Advisory: Serve as a principal leader within the Global Risk & Compliance function, providing expert counsel to the executive suite on regulatory landscapes, strategic risk, and evolving governance standards.
  • External Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies across global jurisdictions, cultivating transparent and collaborative partnerships.
  • Strategic Expansion: Orchestrate regulatory strategy for new market entries, representing the organization before industry stakeholders to ensure alignment and advocate for balanced, risk-based frameworks.
  • Intelligence & Translation: Monitor global legislative shifts and enforcement trends, distilling complex requirements into actionable internal strategies and operational roadmaps.
  • Risk Mitigation: Proactively detect emerging policy issues and regulatory hurdles, designing mitigation strategies that protect the business while enabling product innovation.
  • Governance Consistency: Establish unified and defensible regulatory stances across all regions, effectively balancing statutory obligations with commercial goals.
  • Mentorship & Culture: Act as a senior subject matter expert, fostering a culture of compliance through team mentorship and the continuous strengthening of the organizationโ€™s regulatory posture.

Required:

  • 10+ years of experience working in gaming compliance, regulatory affairs, or risk management, preferably within regulated gaming, sports betting, iGaming, or similarly regulated industries.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging directly with gaming regulators, laboratories, or government agencies at a senior level.
  • Deep understanding of gaming regulatory frameworks, enforcement trends, and regulator expectations.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate complex regulatory issues clearly and persuasively to regulators and senior leadership.
  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and influence outcomes in fast-moving, highly regulated environments.
  • Strategic mindset paired with a practical, solutions-oriented approach to regulatory compliance.

Salary: The US base salary range for this full-time position is 175,000.00 USD - 235,000.00 USD, plus bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable. Our ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
