We are seeking an experienced Information Services Manager (ISM) to lead thetransformationof ourIndividualproductCustomer and Policy data platforms- from legacy, monolithic operational systems tomodern, domain-driven, microservices-based architecture. This role willbalancethestability andstewardship of criticalexistingsystems with the delivery of ourvision for theOperational Data layer, driving innovation while ensuring continuity and reliability. 

Modernizing operational data systems enables real-time decision making, better data quality, and AIdriven innovation. Our Operational Data Vision starts with transforming legacy Customer and Policy data for Individual products. We are moving from monolithic platforms to a domaindriven, eventenabled architecture that improves agility and scalability through a gradual, lowdisruption migration.

    • Info Services Manager: $167,000 - $174,000, plus annual bonus opportunity

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Lead a team that supports two legacy, monolithic operational systems (one COBOLbased and one Javabased) that underpin coreIndividual productCustomer and Policy capabilities. 
  • Stand up and lead a modern Customer & Policy data capability, making ourOperationalData Vision a reality through domaincentric, eventdriven data products. 
  • Build, coach, andretainahighlyperforming, inclusive team through clear expectations, accountability, recognition, and growth opportunitieswhile also recruiting and developingthe right mix of skills to support both legacy and modern data capabilities 
  • Champion Mutually Connected values and promote an inclusive employee experienceand encourageself-directedteams and intrinsic motivation while addressing performance issues directly and constructively 
  • Ensure compliance with SDLC, incident, problem, change, and audit standardswhiledemonstratingeffective financial stewardship across labor, vendors, and tooling 
  • Apply Organizational Change Management practices to guide teams through transformationand champion Agile andSAFeprinciples while balancing flexibility with discipline 
  • Build strong peer relationships across technology, architecture, and business teamsand manage vendors and external partners through effective statements of work, cost controls, and performance metrics 
  • Lead teams responsible for missioncritical, monolithic operational platforms supportingIndividual productCustomer and Policy capabilities andimproveoperational sustainability by addressing workflow inefficiencies, unplanned work, and support load 
  • Redesign intake, prioritization, and execution models to improve transparency and predictabilitywhile also stabilizingdelivery while preparing platforms for gradual modernization and integration with future data capabilities 
  • Establish domain-aligned, event-enabled microservices and data products that improve agility, scalability, and data consistency across theplatform. Partnerwith Enterprise Architecture, Data Governance, and Platform teams to implement modern data patterns 
  • Ensure forward-looking initiatives are protected from operational drag whileremainingaligned to enterprise standardsand use Customer & Policy as a reference domain for howoperationaldata should be delivered across the enterprise 
  • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING: 

  • Comfortable leading teams across legacy and modern technology stacks, acting as a solution owner, not just a people manager 

  • Influence experienced engineers and stakeholders with strong technical perspectiveswhile balancing empathy with accountability and decisiveness 

  • Experience leading teams through legacy-to-modern application transitionsand can thrivein ambiguity and can translate vision into executable plans 

  • Communicate clearly across technical, business, and executive audiences 

 PREFERRED:

  • 5+ years of Information Systems or technology leadership experience, or equivalent combination of leadership and technical experience
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience 
  • Experience with domaincentric or eventdriven data architecturesand exposureto data mesh, knowledge graph, or operational data modernization initiatives 
  • Backgroundsupportinglarge-scaleoperational systems in regulated or complex enterprise environmentsand formal training in leadership or change management 
  • Demonstrated success leading teams through operational stabilization and modernizationand proven ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries to deliver complex solutions 
  • Strong understanding of data platforms, pipelines, and hybrid legacy/modern architectures 

This role is classified as remote; however, periodic in-person attendance will be required at times for activities such as quarterly or project planning, training, or other business-critical meetings.
