Tracking Pixel information

What is a tracking pixel?

Tracking pixels are small, invisible images embedded in emails or web pages that collect data about user behavior. When a user opens an email or visits a web page with a tracking pixel, information such as IP address, device type, and user actions are sent back to the server. Marketers and website owners use tracking pixels to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and understand user engagement. While they help optimize marketing strategies, tracking pixels also raise privacy concerns, so their use is often regulated.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a digital marketing tracking specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Digital Marketing Tracking Specialist, you need a solid understanding of web analytics, data tracking methodologies, and digital marketing principles, often supported by a relevant degree or certification. Familiarity with tools like Google Tag Manager, Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, and conversion tracking platforms is essential. Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and strong communication skills help you implement accurate tracking and explain insights to stakeholders. These competencies ensure reliable data collection, enabling effective campaign measurement and optimization for business growth.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals managing tracking pixels in digital marketing campaigns?

Managing tracking pixels often involves coordinating with multiple teams such as web development, analytics, and marketing. Common challenges include ensuring correct pixel placement, avoiding duplicate or missing data, and maintaining compliance with privacy regulations like GDPR and CCPA. Attention to detail and clear communication are essential, as even a small error in pixel configuration can impact campaign tracking and reporting accuracy. Regular testing and collaboration with other stakeholders help mitigate these challenges and ensure effective campaign measurement.

Job Title: Paid Digital Strategist

FLSA Status: Exempt

Hours: Full-Time

Salary Range: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year

About Hurrdat:

Hurrdat is one of a kind. A media, marketing, and entertainment agency.

We were founded in Lincoln, Nebraska as a small team of two in 2010, offering social media services to brands and athletes. After a decade of growth, we have grown to be a uniquely well-rounded marketing and advertising agency with in-house media, sports, entertainment, and film divisions.

Mergers and acquisitions over the years (with B2 Interactive, Disconnected Media, Digital Hero Films, Victory Fighting Championship, Hail Varsity, and Parkville Media) have grown our team to over 150 people.

We serve over 200 clients who collectively operate in 8 countries, including 43 states in the United States. Our clients range from local businesses just starting to build their brand and online presence to enterprise organizations.

About the Role:

We're seeking a lead-acquisition expert to own Meta as a unified, full-funnel growth engine. This role combines advanced paid-social strategy, first-party audience development, and measurement modernization inside a regulated advertising environment. Words like analytical, strategic, creative, and conversion-focused describe our ideal candidate. This position reports directly to the Director of Paid Acquisition.

Duties and Responsibilities

Include but not limited to:

  • Own end-to-end paid social strategy across a book of business — building and managing full-funnel campaign structures that drive measurable growth from awareness through conversion.

  • Drive lead acquisition performance by identifying the right optimization strategies, audience signals, and budget allocation approaches to consistently improve lead volume and quality.

  • Develop and manage audience strategy — leveraging first-party data signals and platform tools to reach the right people at the right stage of the funnel.

  • Lead campaign measurement and attribution practices to ensure performance data is clean, accurate, and actionable — enabling confident optimization and clear client reporting.

  • Partner with the Creative Strategist to develop and iterate on a full-funnel creative library that drives engagement and conversion across campaign objectives.

  • Translate paid media performance into clear, client-ready growth narratives — communicating what is working, what is not, and what the path forward looks like.

  • Stay current on Meta platform changes, algorithm behavior, and industry best practices to continuously improve campaign efficiency and lead quality.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 3+ years of hands-on Meta Ads experience with direct ownership of full-funnel campaign strategy and execution.

  • Proven track record managing over six figures in monthly paid-social budget under personal accountability — not team or agency-wide totals.

  • Demonstrated discipline in budget pacing, allocation, and spend efficiency at scale.

  • Strong understanding of Meta platform audience tools, conversion tracking, and campaign optimization best practices.

  • Strong understanding of conversion tracking, pixel implementation, and event-based optimization strategies.

  • A creative-led performance mindset — fluent in working creative as the primary funnel lever.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working within sensitive or regulated ad categories (e.g., housing, employment, credit, healthcare).

  • Experience scaling a single consolidated structure rather than fragmented campaigns.

  • Familiarity with CTV/retargeting coordination.

Candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment background check.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • Work is normally performed in a typical office environment.

  • Will lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds using safe and proper lifting methods.

Benefits

  • Health Insurance

  • Dental Insurance

  • Vision Insurance

  • Life Insurance

  • Parental Leave

  • Employee Discounts

  • 401(k) Retirement Plan

  • Responsible Time Off Policy
