Renewables Origination Analyst - Energy Storage (BESS)
Locations:FULLY REMOTE (Anywhere in the USA)
This an opportunity to join an industry leading renewable energy venture with strong private equity backing that is focused on the development and execution of dynamic utility-scale energy storage projects. They are at the forefront of the industry, have accumulated over 8GW of projects in a relatively short period of time, and are currently in an accelerated expansion phase which includes the addition of an Origination Analyst
This position is a will work closely with the Origination Leadership Team on their market expansion strategy and management of RFP evaluation process. This includes the quantitative/qualitative assessment of entering new markets, M&A opportunities, developing pricing, and RFP initiatives in a fast paced rapid growth environment. An ideal candidate will have a strong power marketing background dealing with RFPs, bilateral deals, pricing, M&A, off-take agreement initiatives in collaborative remote work environments. Must be willing to take ownership of the RFP response process.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The Renewables Origination Analyst takes ownership of developing, qualifying, and quantifying new commercial opportunities (greenfield, off-take..M&A..etc)
  • The Renewables Origination Analyst acts as the point person and key stakeholder for all RFP responses and power marketing opportunities
  • The Renewables Origination Analyst leads the preparation proposals including the project valuation and pricing assessments
  • The Renewables Origination Analyst supports project risk evaluations, compliance requirements, and any related M&A/origination criteria for investor relations

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 1-3+ years of power marketing, origination, M&A, or renewables business development experience for large Utility-scale Renewable Energy Developers, IPPs, Electrical Utilities, and Power Generation Companies
  • Hands-on experience w/ the PPA , RFI, and RFQ process for greenfield solar, battery storage, and transmission related renewable energy development projects
  • MUST have quantitative project valuation & pricing experience including exposure to bilateral deals
  • Experience supporting utility scale renewable energy off-take / build transfer deals including project valuation
  • Working knowledge of utility-scale renewable energy commercial negotiation, bidding strategies, and risk mitigation tactics
  • Understanding of commodities trading and hedging strategies for portfolio optimization
  • An understanding of national energy power markets - PJM, ERCOT, SPP, MISO, NYISO, ISO-NE, and CAISO is beneficial
  • Ideal candidates will come from dynamic fast paced companies: Private Equity Firms, Renewable Energy Developers, IPPs, & Electrical Utilities: Origination Analyst, Origination Associate, Transactions Analyst, Power Marketing Analyst, Power Marketing Associate, Business Development Analyst, or Business Development Associate
