What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Remote User Testing position, and why are they important?

To thrive in Remote User Testing, you need strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and experience with usability testing, often supported by a background in UX/UI, HCI, or related fields. Familiarity with user testing platforms (such as UserTesting or Lookback.io) and screen recording/annotation tools is commonly required, though formal certifications are not always mandatory. Excellent written and verbal communication, time management, and the ability to provide constructive feedback help you stand out in this role. These skills are crucial for accurately evaluating digital products, delivering clear insights, and ensuring a seamless remote work process.

Is UserTesting real or fake?

UserTesting is a legitimate company that offers remote user testing jobs where individuals provide feedback on websites and apps. The role typically involves completing tests using specific tools and following guidelines, and it is widely recognized as a real opportunity for earning income through remote work.

Does UserTesting actually pay?

What is a Remote User Testing job?

A Remote User Testing job involves evaluating websites, apps, or other digital products by providing feedback on usability, design, and overall user experience. Testers follow specific instructions to complete tasks while sharing their thoughts and observations. Companies use this feedback to improve their products before launching them to a wider audience. No specialized skills are required, but attention to detail and clear communication are essential. Most remote user testing jobs are freelance or part-time, with testers getting paid per completed test.

What is the best UserTesting site?

For remote user testing jobs, platforms like UserTesting, TryMyUI, and Userlytics are popular options. These sites typically require testers to complete sample tests and have specific device or browser requirements. The best site depends on individual preferences, availability, and the types of tests offered.

What are some common challenges faced in remote user testing roles?

One of the most common challenges in remote user testing is maintaining clear communication with product teams when you are not physically present. Testers often need to quickly adapt to different products and testing tools, manage time effectively across multiple projects, and avoid misinterpretation of user feedback due to lack of face-to-face interaction. Working remotely also requires a high level of self-motivation and discipline to meet deadlines without in-person supervision. However, these challenges can be mitigated by proactive communication, thorough documentation of findings, and leveraging collaboration platforms to stay connected with teams.

What companies will pay you to test their products?

Remote user testing companies such as UserTesting, TryMyUI, and Userlytics pay individuals to evaluate websites, apps, and products. These platforms typically require testers to complete tasks and provide feedback, often using tools like screen recording and microphones, and pay per test or project.

The following position is to join our RTX Enterprise Services team:

The ServiceNow Product Manager for HR Service Delivery (HRSD) โ€“ Lifecycle Events is responsible for the strategic ownership, evolution, and delivery of ServiceNowโ€™s onboarding, offboarding, and employee transition capabilities. This role blends product management discipline, hands-on business analysis, and delivery oversight to ensure employee transitions are seamless, automated, secure, and scalable across a large, global enterprise.

This role serves as the primary bridge between HR stakeholders, Enterprise Services, platform teams, developers, and vendorsโ€”owning the full product lifecycle from demand intake through roadmap execution and post-release optimization.

The scope for this role includes Onboarding, Preboarding, Offboarding, Cross-boarding (internal transfers), and the associated automation delivered through ServiceNow HRSD Lifecycle Events.

What You Will Do:

  • Product Strategy & Vision

  • Own and articulate the product vision and strategy for ServiceNow HRSD Lifecycle Events.

  • Conduct market research, platform benchmarking, and trend analysis to identify best practices and new capabilities in employee lifecycle automation.

  • Define and maintain a multiโ€‘year product roadmap aligned to enterprise HR priorities, compliance requirements, and the broader ServiceNow platform strategy.

  • Establish and enforce product governance, including intake standards, prioritization frameworks, lifecycle management, and value realization metrics.

  • Business Partnership & Leadership

  • Serve as the primary executive-facing point of contact for the end-to-end employee transition experience delivered through ServiceNow.

  • Build and sustain trusted partnerships with HR business leaders, COEs, IT, Security, and cross-functional teams.

  • Lead strategic discovery sessions to identify opportunities for automation, standardization, user experience improvement, and risk reduction within onboarding and offboarding processes.

  • Act as a thought partner on ServiceNow HRSD Lifecycle capabilities and best practices, guiding leaders toward the right investments.

  • Demand, Stakeholder & Value Management

  • Lead demand management, ensuring transparent and outcomeโ€‘driven prioritization across global HR stakeholders.

  • Balance strategic initiatives, compliance mandates, operational priorities, and platform health.

  • Define and track product success metrics including cycleโ€‘time improvement, automation effectiveness, adoption, and user satisfaction.

  • Deliver regular reporting on outcomes, risks, value delivered, and roadmap progress to senior leadership.

  • Product Development & Backlog Ownership

  • Translate product strategy into epics, features, and a prioritized product backlog for HRSD Lifecycle Events.

  • Define feature-level functional requirements, employee journey flows, business rules, and service design in partnership with architects and platform engineering.

  • Lead backlog refinement to ensure user stories are well defined, estimated, and sequenced for development.

  • Maintain clear and highโ€‘quality documentation to support development, testing, support teams, and ongoing operations.

  • Platform Stewardship & Continuous Improvement

  • Stay current on ServiceNow HRSD and Lifecycle Events capabilities, releases, roadmaps, and best practices.

  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, or retire legacy onboarding/offboarding workflows and customizations.

  • Promote intuitive, employee-centered design across all transition experiences.

  • Ensure all solutions align to platform standards, architectural principles, and long-term scalability.

  • Business Analysis, Delivery & Project Oversight

  • Perform handsโ€‘on business analysis, translating HR business needs into storyโ€‘level functional and technical requirements with clear acceptance criteria.

  • Partner closely with developers throughout story development, providing clarification and iterative solution design support.

  • Lead or coordinate functional testing, test case management, and defect triage specific to transition workflows and Lifecycle Events automation.

  • Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with HR, IT, and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Oversee story implementation, release readiness, and postโ€‘deployment validation.

  • Provide light project oversight, managing risks, dependencies, timelines, and crossโ€‘team coordination.

  • What Success Looks Like

  • A clear, outcomeโ€‘driven roadmap for preboarding, onboarding, offboarding, and transitions.

  • Predictable delivery with minimal rework due to strong upstream analysis and requirements.

  • High stakeholder confidence and satisfaction.

  • Increased automation and reduced manual, off-platform, or email-based processes.

  • Standardized transition workflows with strong adoption and measurable experience improvements.

  • Transparent, wellโ€‘governed backlog and intake process.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) and a minimum of 10 years prior relevant experience, including 5 as a Product Manager.

  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow HR Service Delivery, preferably including Lifecycle Events.

  • Strong understanding of product management practices, including roadmap planning, prioritization, and value measurement.

  • Proven ability to perform business analysis, write highโ€‘quality requirements, and support delivery teams.
