THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD
Adjunct Faculty - Graduate Online Instruction (National Defense University College of Information and Cyberspace)
**Location:** Remote (United States)
**Position Type:** Part-Time Adjunct Faculty
**Clearance:** Ability to obtain and maintain any required Government credentials as applicable
**Travel:** Minimal to none
Position Summary
Aleut is seeking highly qualified Adjunct Faculty to support the National Defense University (NDU), College of Information and Cyberspace (CIC) in delivering graduate-level online instruction to military officers, Department of Defense civilians, and national security professionals.
The College of Information and Cyberspace educates joint warfighters, national security leaders, and the cyber workforce to lead, advise, and advance national and global security across the cyber domain and information environment. Adjunct faculty play a critical role in providing high-quality graduate instruction through primarily asynchronous distance learning environments while maintaining academic excellence, student engagement, and instructional continuity throughout a 12-week asynchronous course.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced practitioners and educators with expertise in cybersecurity, information technology, artificial intelligence, data, leadership, financial management, and other national security disciplines to contribute to the professional education of the nation's defense workforce.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver graduate-level online instruction for assigned courses using Government-approved learning management systems.
* Facilitate engaging, student-centered learning experiences in primarily asynchronous online environments.
* Prepare for course delivery by reviewing instructional materials, lesson content, and course requirements.
* Maintain and update course syllabi and instructional materials, as required.
* Support course delivery through Blackboard and other approved online collaboration platforms.
* Foster meaningful student engagement through discussion facilitation, instructional communication, and timely feedback.
* Evaluate student performance and grade assignments in accordance with established academic standards.
* Submit final grades and complete all required academic documentation within established timelines.
* Maintain instructional continuity and academic quality throughout each course.
* Coordinate with College leadership regarding instructional schedules and course requirements.
* Support instructional requirements throughout the academic year as assigned.
Areas of Instruction
Qualified candidates may be considered to teach within one or more of the following disciplines:
* Chief Information Officer (CIO) Programs
* Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Programs
* Chief Data Officer (CDO) Programs
* Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Programs
* Cyber Leadership Graduate Certificate
* Master of Arts in Strategic Information and Cyberspace Studies
Minimum Qualifications
* Master's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant discipline; doctoral degree preferred.
* Demonstrated expertise in one or more applicable subject matter areas.
* Experience teaching or facilitating graduate-level education, professional military education, executive education, or comparable adult learning environments.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience using online learning management systems such as Blackboard or equivalent platforms.
* Ability to provide timely grading, constructive student feedback, and effective virtual engagement.
* Ability to work independently while meeting academic schedules and administrative deadlines.
Preferred Experience
* Prior experience teaching for the National Defense University, Professional Military Education (PME), or other accredited graduate institutions.
* Current or former Department of Defense, military, Intelligence Community, or federal civilian experience.
* Professional certifications applicable to the instructional discipline.
* Experience supporting distance learning and asynchronous online graduate education.
Work Location
This position is performed **remote** utilizing Government-approved online learning platforms, including Blackboard and NDU Connect. Faculty are expected to maintain reliable internet connectivity, working computer, and a professional remote teaching environment.
Salary Range:
  • $4000 -- $7500 (Per 12-week Course)
